Came back here for a quick bite to eat with friends & took up their 2 for 1 Tuesday special. This is the second time I've had their fish & chips here which I absolutely love. Lovely airy but crunchy batter, chips nice & crispy too. I will get around to trying the other dishes too one day. Great place to have a quiet bevy during the week. Staff are normally pretty friendly & food comes out pretty fast. Friday nights can get busy after work so get here early & nab a spot before they are snapped up.
Comfortable place to stay just around central station. There are leather couches and terrace seats. We enjoyed a drink during happy hour. They seem to offer daily specials Monday's special was pizza with $12.
I used to like this place, but had one really bad experience recently. One of the bearded thought he was pretty cool bar staff arriving for their shift attempted to try and start a fight with me, because I said he could lock his bike to mine - it gets busy out front for bike lockup. It's beyond my understanding why anyone should be so aggressive, shouting at me and my friend who were just sat quietly catching up. This obviously won't happen to everyone who goes here, but having hyper-aggressive staff is enough to put me off for a while. Otherwise it's a nice enough place, and all the other staff were lovely!
The bar was almost empty on the Saturday night we visited after dinner. They then turned up the music even though there were just a few small groups trying to sit and talk. The wine tasted old, and the cocktail I had gin fizz was overly sweet with not much flavour. I wouldn't go back in a hurry.
I like this casual bar although it does get a bit over crowded on a friday after work. The drink selection is good, menu is varied and there is heaps of seating. I have been here with a girlfriend for an after work drink but feel it would be acceptable to sit in the window, watching the trains pass, with a good book.
This place is close to my office so i've been here for team lunches and drinks quite a few times. The food is usual pub fare, plus good quality and decent portions. The drinks are reasonably priced. It gets packed on Friday nights but never feels too cramped like some other city bars.
Terrible experience, based largely on the attitude of the manager! Who through his own personal insecurities around, he would not allow conversation with his partner, whom he works with, to communicate with customers without getting overly protective! Me and my friend had one drink and sat outside and we were refused re-entry due to "managers decision" the bouncer exclaimed. I could well be a regular customer if it wasn't due to the hostility thrown about by the so called manager. Apart from this the bar had a great atmosphere and was situated in a great location
Nice little bar, great drinks and food. Recommend the Hugo spritz.
Nice open air bar just out side Central station. I have only been there on a Tuesday evening for their Signer Songwriter night which is great with 3-4 performers. The food is okay but with some many other good places near by I would not eat here.
If you like it quieter it's best on a Saturday night. Staff are lovely, food is great, large selection of beer and spirits, very limited wine. Excellent for avoiding sports since there aren't any TVs.
