Tidewater Tourist Park YHA (Coromandel)

After traveling all day with my family i was relieved to arrive.we have group of 10 persons booked for 6 persons motel. We have a plan to do dinner together then move out but she wasn’t accepting kick us out from motel Lady owner were aggressive, argumentative and denied a refund. No apology, no sympathy, threatening to call cop. Leaving a family with a young child with nowhere to stay. Guests shouldn't get treated poorly because theirs booking t&c . Very disappointing situation.

Not a good place to stay ! Hospitality is ridiculous , I believe a couple runs the motel in which the lady has no-sense of hospitality She is very rude towards the gusts. The motel was completely packed with camper-vans , tents and looked like a freedom camping place so no piece of mind offered . Regarding the room the cabin we got to stay has either no ventilation or any air conditioning. The pictures shown in the booking .com is not correct so please make .After all it is written in the common area that they will close it for cleaning from 10 am to 11 am but the staff is not deciplined or stick to the timing hence the facilities are always limited or interrupted. All of the above it hard to tolerate that yelling lady . No manners at all she has to learn what hospitality is .!

We really appreciated the friendliness of this camp. The owner was really nice and chatty and gave us some mussels. The place was so nice and clean and has been renovated and has a new feel. I would definitely return to this place another time. Thanks for the wonderful stay!Rooms: 4/5

The women owner was rude and was raising her voice to other customers in front of us while we were waiting in reception then also had a bad attitude towards myself and my partner while checking in, they failed to inform us of where any of the facilities were or even show where our campsite was.. was told "oh he can show you" not knowing who "he" even was or were " he" is... Felt like the owners were very disrespectful from the very start of our stay and extremely bad at communicating couldn't even talk like civilized people to resolve the issue! Got charged for a room that was $180 even though we have a confirmation email saying it was cancelled so hopefully owners can do the right thing and return the owed money or will be taking them to small claims court over trying to steal our money! Other then that facilities were nice and clean, owners just need to work on having better people skills.

Stayed in our campervan for one night. Wish we could have stayed longer. Very impressed with well maintained and clean facilities. Lovely peaceful setting. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5

The washroom was clean, rooms were average clean. The towels given to us were clean. The Kitchen was clean. The problem I had was that they have not provided us with Fans in the room. The fan in a room is a necessity, not a luxury. When I ask the owner to provide us with a fan she said we don't have fans the best she can do is shift me to the AC room if I am willing to pay 400 on top of what I have paid for the room. I was with my 3-year-old. It was really hard to breathe in the room. I had to take out my family outside the hotel every night till 9 pm so they can sleep only in the room. I went to Whitianga warehouse to find fans twice but they were sold out. The wood tables, benches, and any place where you can sit and eat were full of spider webs. They did not bother to clean them. if you look under the tables you will find spider webs. How hard is it to use a vacuum and get rid of them?

Very accommodating host after our last minute find. Comfortable bed, nice hot showers, great lounge and kitchen. Thanking the host for even offering us his table at the nearby pub when he saw us hanging at the bar. You’re awesome. From: The boys from Whangarei.
