I've always wanted to go to this cafe otw past but never have. It has a gift store indoor where you can purchase small items from which is a nice touch. Outdoor and indoor seating. Cute doll's house for smaller children. Menu wasn't amazing but wasn't bad. Friendly staff. Decor is perhaps a little dated but I suppose that's part of it's charm. Would recommend for a state highway stop off for a snack.
A most interesting and informative walk through history, using a self guided audio device. There is an excellent licensed cafe as well, with a great food selection, and wonderful service . Congratulations to the owners ,this place should be a "must do" destination.
I really liked this place. It was the first convenient place to stop that looked lovely and inviting after leaving Wellington. Lots of parking, lots of table, speedy service and fast delivery of food without it compromising on quality. The coffee was good too. Meant we could eat good food and get back on the road promptly. It does get busy by the look of it, but it has quietened down when we got there, which was about 1.30 ish. Think it closes at 3pm. Will definitely be using this as our regular pitstop when driving up from Wellington. My son loved the tractor outside.
Just closing at 3pm, but managed to sneak in my smoked fish pie. Always a pleasant place to dine with outside and inside dining. Blackboard menu. Very clean and the staff are caring. Very spacious. Don't forget your hat and glasses if you sit outside as the sun is intense. Child friendly.
My choice for a great cafe in the Sanson area. You'll get real, healthy, wholesome food as opposed to meat pies/sausage rolls/greasy food, although they do have meat pies and sausage rolls, just better quality. They also have vegan options and scrumptious flavour combinations for sweet and savory goodies. Milkshakes, smoothies, coffee, tea and professional service to boot! This is my go to spot for grabbing brunch or lunch when heading into Wellington from Waioru or on the way to Waioru from Wellington
Sitting alongside SH1 a km south of Sanson the Woolshed is one of the best cafes in the lower North Island. Plenty of parking alongside, great range of cabinet and daily menu food. Excellent coffee and well staffed. Wait times are minimal even at peak times. The modern but rustic style building is well laid out with both inside and outside dining options. Never disappoints...
Good food if you need to stop on the State Highway - but the highlight really is the tour of the period historic houses!
Very busy but the service was prompt and everyone enjoyed their food. Great atmosphere and plenty of seating inside, outside and under cover. I had the nachos which were delicious. RecommendFood: 5/5
The food here is excellent. We had bacon and eggs, and the French toast comes with bacon and banana. The rest of the meals look great as well. The coffee wasn't the greatest but don't let that stop you.
Lovely food and gifts, highly recommend!
