Great place for a wine tasting session if you are short on time. The Winery is in the centre of Queenstown so it's easily accessible if you stay in Queenstown. Staff were friendly and professional in introducing and recommending wines. Love the flexibility of choosing what wine you get to taste at your own pace and budget. We also thought the salami platter was nice to go with the wine as an afternoon snack. Definitely don't mind going back again next time we are in Queenstown to try more wine.
I LOVE this place. You get a card from the front desk and can use this for sample. medium and large serves of wine. Gin and whiskey. Brilliant as it mainly showcases central otago wineries. And you pay at the end. The only risk is that one tends to get a little excited. And I definitely tried a few wines. But what’s nice is you can try both expensive and economical wines. In a lovely ambiance.
Love the concept of getting a card to pick your own wines - by sample or glass. Excellent friendly staff that are super helpful to get you started on this wine journey. The bread and sauces was the perfect size and really nice flavors. Indoor and a little outdoor seating
This place is a great twist on the traditional wine tastings. Offering so many in amounts that you can determine and enjoy, completely devised by your tasting and budget. I have been here 2 times and I’ll be coming back for the rest of my life. You also must get the cheeseboard.
My cousin and I went here on our last day in Queenstown. It wasn't planned but we were quite chuffed with our find. They were clearly short staffed on this day one poor soul to hold the fort but he tried his best to be attentive and we got our gin tasting paddles in a timely fashion and were left to it. We were totally fine with this and would go back for sure. I quite enjoyed the gin-ternational explorer paddle flight #4 as there were some gins that I didn't think would float my boat but they did indeed. Perhaps we'll do wine tasting in addition to tasting gin on the next visit there's an idea!. Tasting responsibly of course. The wine is literally on tap but note that it isn't a free tap! I need a location at the airport too methinks...
We have never experienced a wine bar like this… but cannot recommend enough. Think self service wine tasting with the option to choose any bottle you want. A little short staffed when we were there, but once we got started the wine flowed. Top up with a tasting, half glass or full glass of a range of reds and whites, from Rieslings to Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz to Pinot noir. And if you don’t like wine there are beers, gins and whisky to choose from! Highly recommend!!!
Great place to sample and taste wine. They have available wide selection of wine at 25ml, 50ml and 75ml.
I wasn’t able to make it to wine regions while in New Zealand so this was a great second choice. They had such a large variety of wines from across New Zealand and tasting was easy and self paced. I wish more places had wine bars like this. Also the cheese plate was excellent with really good portions of cheese. Would recommend!
An excellent way to try a large number of New Zealand wines if you have limited time. If you go with someone else and share your taste portions, it's pretty economical. The bread and dip was good. Staff seems knowledgeable, but I'm a wine novice, so probably not the best judge.
I'm such a drunkard. Everywhere I go in New Zealand, I'd always look for winery, restaurant that serves wine. Heck I even visit bottle shop in each and every town that I stopped by to purchase wines to drink at night, at the comfort of our accommodation. As a matter of fact, I couldn't recall the day which I didnt touch wine at all. In Queenstown where I spent the longest time was no exception. So I googled around and The Winery popped out in the search. We settled the kids' dinner earlier and then dragged them to our intended destination. They were protesting but we insisted and we even offered sweet deals to keep them quiet. The sights of hundreds if not thousands of wine bottles made us excited. for starter, they will give you a card which you have to use to purchase a glass of wine. All you have to do is to insert the card into the wine dispenser machines, which by the way, are all around the outlet. Price varies depending on the type of wine and volume that you choose. The small ones were so eager to help to press for me, or perhaps they found it fascinating to see this kind of technology for the first time. No wine experience is completed without food hence the assorted cold cut, cheese, bread and cracker platter that also comes with pickles, and dried fruits. It's platter for two but the sheer size of it could easily feed 3-4. They do have tables outside the premise should you want to drink and eat alfresco style but it was beginning of winter so I got cosy hanging out inside the premise itself. Of course they do sell wines by bottles if you have particular preference but to me, I had fun trying many types of wines which I do not normally see in Malaysia.
