The Wheeler Centre is the centrepiece of Melbourne's UNESCO City of Literature Initiative

Story

The Wheeler Centre is responsible for programming a range of events across the year: the annual Premier’s Literary Awards and Children's Book Festival, keynote public events including international speakers, as well as book and magazine launches, speeches, debates, seminars, poetry recitals, book readings, symposia, awards and performances - all revolving around the world of books, writing and ideas.

It's also a hub and home for writers and key literary organisations, including the Melbourne Writers’ Festival, Writers Victoria, Express Media, Emerging Writers’ Festival, Australian Poetry, the Small Press Network and the Melbourne branch of PEN International.

Had a great time attending my first writing forum. Well organised, beautiful building, and  a great experience. Tickets were amazing, the staff flawless, and I look forward to attending more of what they have to offer.
