Went there on a Wednesday night and it was packed. The drawing on chalk is interesting and should definitely give it a read. There is no menu for diner and the chef will decide what to cook and customize the proportion for each table. The ribs are my favorite and they are tender with rich flavour, they don’t taste dry or greasy, which is a perfect balance. People also like the steak which was tender. The chocolate pie at the end was smooth and not so sweet, which is my personal preference. The drinks were too strong in alcohol which didn’t undermine the overall performance of the meal. It could get chilly if you sit outdoor but they have heaters provided. Will definitely go again for diner.

We opted for the Chef’s Menu. It was five courses with two dishes in each course. Every course was better than the previous. And the dessert. Staff were all very attentive and kind. This place is such a good deal for the location and amount of food

This place was suggested by a friend as a spot with the best menu in the area. The menu disappointed - almost no decent appetizers to share, a few types of pasta as small and main dishes. So for a person who doesn't like pasta yes, such people exist! there was nothing to eat. And on the top they were out of mussels.

Stumbled into the well designed spot in the heart of Abbot Kinney. Staff was incredibly friendly and the food tasty but not predictable. The Zuni Chicken was off the charts good. Nice wine list.

Came here for brunch. The service was outstanding. Very friendly. The food was AMAZING!! Started off with the oysters. Out of all the oysters I have ever had, these were top 5. For the main course I had the Maine Lobster Scramble. Very nice portion and delicious. For dessert I had the sticky bun which I can only describe as heavenly. Not overly sweet which I find usually sticky buns are overly sweet. I could eat here everyday and not get tired of it. If you have never eaten at The Tasting Kitchen do your taste buds a favor and try it for yourself and the ln you can thank me.

First time here, I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Highly recommend it.

Truly authentic and high quality Italian food in beautifully and creatively furnished restaurant. The pasta is hand-made and the sauces are truly authentic as I recall it from my own life in Italy. In 9 months all over the USA this is really one of the very very few really credible Italian places that I have found. Also the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is great!

Pretentious and mediocre quality.  Went here a month ago around 4:50 or 5pm on a weekday. Place was totally empty, not one diner inside. Hostesses seemed concerned they couldn't fit me in for a 30 minute meal. What? When they sat me it was literally in the worst possible table.  When said meal arrived I think I got the cod, it was some kind of fish it was average at best, slimy and oily would be a better description. When the bill came, it was close to $100 for the fish entree, one appetizer and a seltzer. It was my first time there, but given these reasons, I won't be returning.

For the same price range I have been in better places. It’s not bad and some of the dishes were actually very good tasting, but I feel the maintenance of the outside could be better, portions could be bigger, service could be nicer. I don’t know, there’s something that doesn’t make it special for me.

Amazing meal but completely shocked that we were being shooed from our table because we  passed out two hour allotment! We had just spent $400 for two people and were being asked to leave! And the hostess were completely rude! They actually said they didn’t care. They said their job was to sit the next table. I’ve never been rushed out of a restaurant and especially at this price! It was such a pleasant evening until the last 10 mins we were ASKED to leave as paying customers. Absolutely shocking so rude and disrespectful to customers.
