Incredible venue! A heritage-listed pub that has been here since 1878 - the layout is awesome, food is awesome and service is awesome. My partner and I had our Engagement Party on the rooftop bar of this venue and would highly recommend! It is just such a beautiful and unique layout. Perfect for a cocktail style event. The team at The Taphouse/Elm Rooftop bar went above and beyond. I still have people telling me today what a great day it was. This pub has 3 levels - very funky, first level is their main pub, second level an event space and top level a Rooftop Bar!! It doesn't get much better than that. Please do yourself a favour and go check out this venue :
Superb selection of boutique beers, $10 for a sample paddle on Thursdays is awesome, meal was good value. I recommend!!! Amazing take away bottle shop too.
Came here for a dinner with friends to try out their half price November deal. We were very excited about the food as the menu looked amazing, and also the drinks given the selection of craft beer they have on tap. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing! We ordered the BBQ platters, pulled pork burger, poutine, corn ribs & fish and chips. The BBQ platter looked quite impressive on arrival but everything seemed overcooked especially the brisket which was so dry! and plain. Needed to douse everything in sauce to taste better. Unfortunately, the chips turned out to be the best part of the platter! The pulled pork burger which didn't seem to be on a milk bun - looked like a squashed supermarket bun and the pulled pork seemed a little old. Fish and chips were ok but nothing amazing - when asking the staff what fish it was when we were ordering all they could say was it was "battered fish". Chips with the poutine were soft and soggy so not very enjoyable. Apart from the long queues to order which was understandable given the specials, once ordering the imperial stout was not available despite being on the board. Another thing to add is the Rooftop bar does not have a great selection of beers and can get extremely loud. Hoping this was only because it was a busy Friday night as this place has great potential so was a shame that we had such a bad experience. *** Post 2nd visit: We revisited on a Wednesday night so the venue was not as crowded. The platter was still a little on the dry side but other items were quite tasty we ordered a few steaks. Service and beer selection were great.
Drinks and atmosphere are great, unfortunately the food is letting this place down. 2 years ago we would come here for fantastic food and drinks. Brisket was inedible with what seemed like old reheated leathery meat. My advice don’t eat here but come for the drinks though.
Great pub before or after a big game. Beers can be quite strong, so double-check with the bartender to save wobbly legs. A must try is their Scotch egg WOW what an egg it was!! Salt & pepper squid was great too!
Wow. Loved the Sunday roast. We had the beef sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. The roast veg, craft beers, the tunes and super friendly staff were the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!
Great selection of craft beers reasonably priced. Food is tasty and fresh also. Well worth a visit.
Lunch menu very basic. Ordered fish & chips & salad. Received fish saturated in oil, fries NOT chips & Rotten tomatoes with old soggy lettuce yellow & black leaves. Terrible, cook should be replaced. We will Not be going back! Best part was the coke. Hopefully the coke will kill the bacteria. Shame on you for charging for this rubbish meal. Heath inspections should shut you down.
Good selection of beers, but the Untappd menu wasn't up to date. Pub food was average and it must have been sitting around for a long time as it was delivered to our table barely warm. It was not a busy time of the day. I will be back for more beers, as the selection was interesting and covered many styles.
Visited Taphouse specifically for trivia night. Booked in advance for a table on the rooftop as it was stated the event would be held there. Dinner and drinks were unimpressive, including meat well done when requested for medium rare and soggy chips. Sat there for a bit over an hour, with the rooftop gradually becoming more dull and less of customers. We assumed the trivia was not occurring because of this reason, along with no staff showing up. On the way out, turns out the trivia was hosted on the lower floor. We were feeling bummed and upset that no staff has notified us. Along with no updates on the website, misleading as it still showed location as rooftop.
