It's a shame, because I genuinely wanted to leave a higher rating.nnMy mum had a lot of dealings with this store back in the 2000s under Nigel's management, and the rapport he brought to every interaction was truly above and beyond. That experience set a high bar in my memory.nnReturning for the first time since I was a kid, everything on paper was fine. The service was textbook, professional, and correct in all the right ways. But when I tried to make genuine conversation, the energy felt apathetic at best. There was no warmth, no real connection.nnIt's a little sad, because I remember genuinely looking forward to visiting this place as a child. This time, the visit and purchase felt like the textbook definition of transactional. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Sport Shop is by far the best place to buy sports shoes. I go here every year for my son's rugby boots and the service is outstanding. My son had his boots sized and fitted properly, the owner Nigel introduced himself and shook my son's hand, I was even thanked for shopping there, you just can't beat the service at this place and the prices are reasonable. Thank you so much!
I am so impressed with Nigel's customer service I just had to write a review. If only everyone in retail these days was this friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I stopped in with my son to buy some new shoes for school yesterday and Nigel greeted us at the door, introduced himself and engaged so nicely with my son, even my 9 year left the store impressed! Happy with our purchase. We will definitely be back, thanks Nigel!
