The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania is the premier yacht club in Tasmania conducting local events on River Derwent, national and international titles as well as finishing the blue water classic, the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania in addition to its usual summer and winter pennant racing, conducts the annual Sailing South Race Week each January, assists the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia with the conduct of the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and conducts the six week cruise in company around Tasmania every second year.
