Came here to watch The Tina Turner musical. Top 3 musicals all time in my book.nnThe venue is visibly old yet charming, magical and beautiful. My biggest issue about the venue is the logistics and structure in terms of entry & exit. If you happen to be seated in the dress circle, it is a nightmare to get out during intermission and exit, as they only allow one pathway.nnFor senior citizens and elderly, I would not recommend sitting in the dress circle section as it can be a struggle going up and down the stairs. Stick to the stalls.nnThat said, a great night out in an all time classic venue.
A very nice old theatre, although the seating and leg room tend to match the old theatre expectations of course. But still if it's a good show this theatre just adds a whole lot of extra charm. The view from the Dress circle or even the Grand dress circle first 3 or so rows is quite good and at each end can save a few dollars at some shows.
Small and comfortable theatre with seats up in the stalls that will still give you a decent view of the show. Only issue is the limited number of toilets for ladies- avoid going at intervals unless urgent!nOverall it's a lovely place with pubs nearby if you need a relax beforehand.
Be there for the Tina Turner music show that was an amazing show and you can feel the theatres not really big but the history and story you can tell.nnNot easy to find the bathroom probably because it was being built ages ago, overall its a very easy accessible theatre and its just along the Spring Street you don’t need to walk along way.
Absolutely dazzled by how great the staff are here - they magically turn queues of people at the bar at intervals into served customers in under a minute- so efficient. Theatre is gorgeous and Tina Turner The Musical was a powerhouse cast, definitely one of the best things I've seen in Melbourne. Brilliant night out
