Historic and well maintained pub tucked away in a relatively quiet corner of Mayfair. The bar staff were welcoming and the overall space has clearly been lovingly restored. There are open spaces as well as tucked away private nooks. Good choice of ales too.
41 Farm St, London W1J 5RP  Green Park  £6.70 Heineken One of Mayfair’s oldest pubs. . The Punchbowl is located on a quiet backstreet in the heart of Mayfair. The nearest tube is Green Park, Bond Street tube is similar distance to get here. . This Georgian pub is one of the oldest in pubs in Mayfair and was built around 1750. There is celebrity attached to this pub, Guy Ritchie & Madonna famously bought this pub back in 2008. The pub became renowned for the celebs that frequented here and raucous parties that ensued. . The decor here is traditional, even though the pub has been altered several times over the years, the pub retains many of its original features. Throughout this cosy boozer are oak panels cladding the walls and a stripped oak floor from front to back. There is a period fireplace and a map of Mayfair on the ceiling. There is a mid-sized servery and a secluded booth at the rear, all this combined makes this a seductive environment. . The beer choice won’t blow your socks off but was decent enough. I ordered a Heineken from the very nice member of staff, my pint was great but cost just under £7. There is a gastronomic British food menu including roasts on a Sunday, Fish & Chips costs £19.95. On the upper floors are dining rooms and a members club. . I arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday and the pub was calm and chilled. I found a nice ledge opposite the bar to perch on and take stock of my surroundings. There were a few small groups in attendance including young and old punters and visitors from across the pond. The soundtrack was soothing downtempo chillout music which set a nice tone. . The @punch_bowl_mayfair is a cosy and intimate pub that welcomes one and all. The food is not your average pub grub and the beer was good if a bit pricey, but this is Mayfair. This would be a great spot for date night or to just chill with a friend. Madonna had plenty of hits over the years, this pub was definitely a hit with me. . ℹ Info correct on visiting 14/01/23
Gem of a pub hidden away in the heart of Mayfair. Can be a more eclectic crowd than one might expect. Early evening rush seems to calm down quite quickly. Key positives included an excellent cask IPA, hearty and high quality food. However, it was the helpful and welcoming staff that contributed most to a great evening.
A quaint little pub tucked away in Mayfair. Good fast service and a pleasant atmosphere. Beer was good and cold. A pleasant visit.
Friendly staff, but slow service, out of stock on some beers, and food was average. That said, if you just need somewhere that takes bookings for a reasonably large group, then it's a good option.
Walked in for lunch at short notice. 12:20 for a 12:30 lunch. The menu was a little basic but in all honesty for lunch this was fine; it featured your pub classic fish and chips as well as something light Caesar salad. I opted for the potted shrimp to start with and the salmon Caesar salad for main, both of which were very good. I didn’t have a beer as this was a working lunch but the selection on tap was good. The staff were friendly and lunch was reasonably priced for the location. I would go back as well as recommend.
We had the top room all to ourselves for a wonderful Christmas lunch. Terrific food, great service and even our TV to watch the world cup. Would recommend this room for groups of 8 to 12 people.Food: 5/5
Went here to celebrate my husband's 54th bday...we did what we swore not to: ate way too much! But the food was so good and tempting, we got distracted! Started with a wonderful, but BIG, Scotch Egg & drinks...moved on to Steak and Shepherd Pie, then topped it off with absolutely delicious Cheesecake. A fine meal in a fun pub...good prices, nice staff
Lovely pub. Unfortunatly food is expensive and not very good. I had a pie which was okay but served with some over cooked cabbage on the side. Could've done with some better veg and tasty gravy. Other dishes poor too. Shame. As beautiful pub with nice bar and beer. Food lets it down
While the food was good the service was a mess. I felt so sorry for the poor girl serving us who was alone handling all the restaurant patrons. From my table I stared straight at piled up dirty plates. All wines requested from the Wine List were not available. None of the Stickies on the Menu were available. I had really wanted to love this Pub but it was so disappointing. A lady at the next table had her chair collapse under her and she fell to the floor. The service team did nothing until I suggested they give the lady a new chair. The girls serving were so poorly dressed and frazzled it made me feel like they needed real support and training, I have never written a bad review before but tonight was so disappointing.
