Really impressed with their consistency!!! Been their regular customer since 2014-17 since I lived around the neighbourhood before I went back to my country. Get a chance to come back here again in 2022 and everything is exactly the same!!! You guys are awesome and will always be my favourite brunch place in the whole Melbourne city. Really appreciate what you guys are doing, please keep it up. Melbourne need more places like this!!!
We were in the area for something and stopped by this cafe on the way to have brunch on Saturday. The place gives you good vibes. We found it good and average overall. We had coffee, cold pressed juice, BLT and egg&bacon sliders. Portion and price are acceptable. Service was okay, not overly friendly or impressive. Food was good but not great. Tomato relish that comes with sliders tasted good.
Best breakfast I've had in years. I enjoyed the Chilli Scrambled Eggs and as a very welcome change it wasn't the chilli eggs and basil pesto you find nearly everywhere these days. It had fresh chilli and spring onions with a side of jalapeño jam. Definitely a must have. And the coffees were great to!
Old Milk Bar has operated for years and has kept their menu simple, yet consistent. Food is nothing boisterous like most Melbourne cafes these days–they do what they know and they do it well. I ordered smashed avo with crumbed poached eggs and my friend ordered the beef burger with shoestring fries. Very generous servings and packed with flavour. Not many places add pesto on avo but that was a nice kick. The burger was juicy but the fries were a bit soggy. Dog friendly. Heaps of undercover seating and street parking. Service is low touch which I didn’t mind when you’re sitting, eating, and chatting.
Had a quick sandwich, juice and ice latte with my toddler today. The staff were absolutely gorgeous chatting to my little boy. When he had a little tantrum they appeared with a marshmallow on a plate . Will definitely be coming back
I visit this place regularly to catch up with friends. It has a fun and friendly vibe and the meals are delicious. The chilli scrambled eggs, the omelette, the big breakfast and the smashed avocado with fetta are my favourite meals on the menu. They also make excellent coffees. The cost of the meals are a little on the pricier side but it's justified given the quality of the meals served.
The waitresses were very friendly and the coffee quite nice. Service was slow so if you’re in a rush you might be pushed for time! The man behind the counter taking payments was very rude and unhelpful when my mother tried to order an extra takeaway coffee - and complaining that we had not followed their process which was not clear!!. Unfortunately, he ruined the experience for us and I would not recommend this cafe
Went to the old milkbar today with a friend and my first impression was that the location is awesome, away from the busy lanes, at the corner of a street amongst the residential houses. The courtyard area seemed busy so we decided to sit in. The serves were pretty quick in helping us and take out orders. We ordered •The cold pressed juices from juice culture aa it was a warm day, we got the Rawberry & the Circus. The circus had a nice citrus taste to it. Definitely the highlight of the whole visit. For food we got • Dr. Marty’s Crumpets The presentation was a 10/10. I loved how there were different coloured element that made it look good. The crumpets were nice n moist. However, the •Cinnamon Waffles The presentation was okay, felt like it was trying to hard to look like their competition. The waffles looked like they were store bought..and the sour cream was completely unnecessary. Every element on the plated tasted really good, but only separately. The overall dish was a hit n miss. The overall experience was okay. The good thing thou, that they have zomato gold.
Yep. very good overall. Was supposed to get there for brunch but got there closer to lunch so I had the burger. My companions had the chicken sandwich. They both said it was great. My burger was pretty darn delicious. I opted for an iced coffee which was good. Good service. A bit exxy but it's worth it.
Service here is horrible and even more horrible when you are treated badly from owners daughter that she is the owner as well. Her father is amazing but her oooh dear. We arrived there and we were a party of 3 adults and 3 kids. When we entered we talked with a waiter and asked us how many people are we and so we told him. He turns to her and asking what to do and she looked at us and asked if we have a reservation that clearly knew we didn’t and she said you can only sit here in front of the store of course we didn’t want to as there was one available table that could accommodate us all. Instead she made one of the waitresses to go and clean the remaining table and put a reservation label. Clearly no one was there. When we put a complain to the waiter he went an told her and she came outside to “apologise” and to prove to us that she indeed had another reservation at 3 pm. Please note that they close at 3:30 and stop serving food at 3pm. Figure that out. She is such an unfriendly person and soon when her dad retired she will run out of business that girl is such a mean person. Ps food is very expensive for an outsider and portion wise.
