While visiting friends for the long weekend, they took us to their highly rated local Mexican spot, The Mex. We can definitely say it lived up to the hype ‼nnWe shared a few starters: nachos, wings and corn elotes, and each got tacos. My husband and I shared the birria slow cooked beef, baja fish battered fish and crispy fried chicken tacos so we could try a bit of everything.nnOur top 3 dishes:  Wings - still thinking about them   Birria tacos - rich and full of flavour  Baja fish tacos - perfectly crispynnThe place was super busy, but the food came out surprisingly quick, which we appreciated.nnIf you’re visiting Ocean Grove, this spot is definitely worth adding to your list. We also recommend booking ahead to make sure you can get a seat.

Our dinner here was delicious. Food was great quality! We had the chicken fajita share plate and a beef Mex bowl. The fajita dish was very generous, but the Mex bowl was lacking beef. Service was a little slow but understandable as the restaurant was quite busy. Would definitely come back!

We've always seen The Mex as we drive through the area and this was our first time stopping by. The food was great and the service was great and it had a lovely, welcoming vibe. Someone had a minor episode while dining and the staff were so attentive and kind.

Loved this place! We had dinner here tonight for our anniversary and we weren't disappointed. Walking in its warm and cosy. We were greeted by a lovely staff member who showed us to our table which was right in front of an open fire place. We ordered our drinks and our food which was a shared nachos, burrito bowl and enchilada. Everything tasted amazing! I honestly could not complain about anything. Food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. Thank you for a great night.

The Mex is one of the best places I have ever eaten in my life. The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavour, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Every dish exceeded my expectations.nnWithout a doubt, this is the best Mexican food I have had in Australia, and definitely the best in Victoria. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the overall experience was outstanding.nnHighly recommended to anyone who loves great food. I will definitely be coming back again and again!
