I booked in 2 rooms for the grand final weekend to then have my reservation cancelled by the Hotel!!!! Not to mention cancelling my booking a week later while prices have increased dramatically with no explanation at all from the Hotel. Poor! Wont be staying here.Service: 1/5
The online photos look fantastic but that is definitely not delivered. Our 2 bedroom suite was very pokey, the sofa had several mysterious stains on it, and I noticed how many of the walls were either marked up or cushions that were frayed, damaged or dirty. The Champagne Bar was such a let down with minimal options, "Champagne by the Glass" is misleading - literally 3 or so options only available. I really expected such a great experience for the premium price but definitely let down by the execution. Oh and valet parking is only for 5 car spaces... Pretty dismal for a hotel to have so few car spaces available and naturally they are quickly taken by other patrons.
Best massage I've ever had! I came in with so many knots on my shoulders and left completely relaxed! Sharnee focused on the area and applied the exact amount of pressure I asked for! The staff is really friendly and the rooms smell amazing, definitely recommend!
We have stayed here many times before. This time wehad a need to check in early. Without hesitation they said "come in". I feel the staff are empowered to provide excellent service. Food is good and spa is lovely. The rooms are comfortably appointed and the location is fantastic.
The Lyall is in a great location in Sout Yarra. Close to the Gardens, within a relatively easy walking distance of downtown, near the train station, and in a neighborhood of shops and restaurants. Stayed here for three nights and found the property to be exceptional. The dining room/bar was excellent, large selection of wines, and various champagnes by the glass. Staff friendly and attentive. A+++++
Really wonderful and helpful. Great staff! I booked as a gift for parents and the staff were so helpful with booking and arranging some extras. Then they took care of my parents wonderfully and added some treats + upgrade for nothing. We will all return when possible. Lovely place, incredible rooms, fab vibe!
Spa review: absolutely amazing. Firstly they were unable to fit me in at my desired time but rang back when they had a cancellation. Tailored the treatment to suit me. I had the Algae Wrap with a mini facial. Cannot find fault at all. So relaxing I kept nodding off. Modesty maintained throughout, everything explained in detail. There was no rushing at all. I would definitely recommend and return.
A charming hotel. Though the decor was slightly dated, the hotel was very well maintained and clean. Staff was always ready to assist. Internet connection was a little choppy. The hotel's well-known spa was tricky to secure an appointment - called and left messages but no response. Recommend booking your spa appointment well in advanced thru reception to avoid disappointment.
At first this was a nice place the staff on arrival were lovely. Upon arriving the advertised car park/valet was full so we parked near by. The next day with an extremely noisy 7am construction start we filled our car meter then again after breakfast but we were 10minutes late and got a fine. When checking out I mentioned the fine and the car park the rude staff member literally said too bad we have 5 car parks. That’s it. Ruined our experience completely!
We stayed here for our wedding night. The people were great and accomodating to us. There were however multiple small issues that made the stay overall not so nice. Issues with the booked valet parking when out car was dropped off with staff saying thay we had not booked for that my partner rang 3 days prior to confirm. Shower ran hot and cold. Limited night room service menu, ordered a bowel of chips and was later advised not availible admit that they comped us a chicken and mayo sandwich. Issues with luggage not removed from our vehicle. We were disappointed as we booked a special hotel for after our wedding and left feeling like we did not get the experience we wanted.
