Friendly wait staff, however, due to an unannounced function were squeezed in out the back. Food was good, but pricey. Would have preferred to have been seated upstairs.

Food is excellent. Wine choices superb. Service attentive. What spoilt the experience is that the website did most mention The Laneway was booked for a private function, so I made my way into the city for an hour on the bus for nothing. Then when I was told to move downstairs I went to a table (no 'Reserved' sign) only to be told I couldn't sit there as it was reserved. Was then placed near a door with people constantly going and coming from the laneway. Nice enough place, but could be better organised in terms of what is available and what is not.

Extremely courteous wait staff, excellent drinks and a great atmosphere for relaxing with friends.
