Great food. Great service and atmosphere, great place for a few drinks or night with friends
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Went here for cocktails and they where very hit and miss which is why I couldn't give 5stars. The 2 I ordered looked beautiful but unfortunately did not taste to match, howevwr my partners drinks were fantastic in appearance and taste!
I've been to the function room several times for corporate social nights, the bar has a great decor and style while the staff are very friendly. The function room is a smaller size, so don't bring a massive group About 40-50 people would be the limit.
DO NOT EAT HERE I went to this bar on the 18th of december and ordered a coffee, long black with cream. I was then told by the waiter they did not have any cream, I attempted to cancel the order, but they refused and made me pay for a coffee, they did not make and I did not order.
Food is excellent. Wine choices superb. Service attentive. What spoilt the experience is that the website did most mention The Laneway was booked for a private function, so I made my way into the city for an hour on the bus for nothing. Then when I was told to move downstairs I went to a table no 'Reserved' sign only to be told I couldn't sit there as it was reserved. Was then placed near a door with people constantly going and coming from the laneway. Nice enough place, but could be better organised in terms of what is available and what is not.
Friendly wait staff, however, due to an unannounced function were squeezed in out the back. Food was good, but pricey. Would have preferred to have been seated upstairs.
Cozy lounge bar, great cocktail list, soft jazz and swing music in the background. Classy vibe of a 1920's speakeasy
Extremely courteous wait staff, excellent drinks and a great atmosphere for relaxing with friends.
Was called something different, looked different to photos, more of a restaurant than laneway bar unless we walked into the wrongful place!
Cocktail Class was divine, would definitely recommend
