Eggs on toast was one of the best I've had, the toast was fried and the eggs were full of flavour. Tangy guac and a crispy hash brown topped it off nicely. The staff were lovely, service was swift, and the decor is industrial and leafy and generally a nice place to sit for a while.
I ordered Italian omelette and drinks to sit here for hours to enjoy the great atmosphere. Coffee was good, food was delicious and excellent service. Highly recommended.
Not busy but should be. Quick service. Excellent food Smashed Avocado & Kids Breakfast. Coffee is superb. Highly recommended
Slow but friendly service, good foodFood: 5/5
The venue is very nice; heated, comfortable and plenty of seating. The coffee was also very nice. Can't tell you about breakfast though, as we were invisible at our table. As per proper etiquette, after reviewing the menu, I set it to my side and waited to order. My wife counted eleven times our young waitress walked past us over 20 odd minutes. People who came after us we're served. Perhaps because we were older than the typical millennial demographic cleintel we were blocked out of vision, they all got served. Next time I'm going to the Lost Ones, a grown up venue.
Waited over 5 minutes to order takeaway coffee, basically ignored by staff while standing at the counter. Decided I was better off making an instant coffee than giving this place my money
Coffee used to be good..now have a new main barista, coffee is terrible and she is rude behind your back I complained, they don't car. I know go around the corner...
The Lane is one of my favourites in Ballarat. The atmosphere is laid back with a sophisticated feel. There is always good music playing in the background. In winter the heating is spot on including a big wood heater which pushes out a wonderful warmth. I buy my coffee here most days and have enjoyed every breakfast I have eaten here. The staff are wonderful too! Cafe style ordering at the counter take a table number and they will deliver your order in a timely manner. There is table service on public holidays and staff will seat you. The breakfast menu priced at value for money and cooked to perfection. We had the Big breakfast, breakfast board and Avocado Smash. Brad one of the staff was brilliant and makes one of the best coffees in town. Friday evenings here are wonderful too with a live band and again great atmosphere.
Went here for lunch a few days ago for the first time. Great little spot, the food was lovely, we had the Murray Cod special. The service could have been a little better. Our main server seemed like she didn't at all want to be there. Dog friendly and central location, will definitely be visiting again.
I have a problem with cafes that don't deliver good coffee and here is a place that guarantees the worst in town!! Food is ALWAYS hit and miss. Not what you would expect from an establishment like this, looks fancy but honestly not worth the visit.
