Great space and friendly staff - HOWEVER, waiting for over 1.5 hours nearly 2! for simple burgers/fish&chips is unacceptable. Meals coming out sporadically, some people at a table finishing their meals a long time before the rest of the table has received their meals. I write this while we are still waiting for our food. Great place for a drink - just don’t order food - the kitchen are letting this place down.
My friend and I found ourselves in the area and felt like seeing some live music. We found that The Kentish has live bands on a Friday night so decided to drop by.nWe are so glad we did. The hospitality from Vicky and all the bar staff was second to non. Felt like we had made a whole new bunch of friends. The establishment itself is great with an interesting history. The food was exactly what we needed. The highlight had to be the regulars. What a wonderful bunch of salt of the earth, fun people. We chatted to so many funny down to earth folks that made us feel at home. Hilarious yarns and top notch dancing shout out to you Wayne!!!! If we are ever that way again we would absoloutly pop in and hope to see some familiar faces!nThe band was also super impressive and seemed like a great group of guys. Their manager was a total Queen!
Hi. I am the person who had my 60th celebration at the Kentish. I have no idea who this person is who left a negative review. They were not a guest at my birthday. My guests and I had a great night and we all really enjoyed our meals and the staff were so friendly and looked after us so well. Everyone enjoyed the band and danced through the night. I am very happy that I chose the Kentish to celebrate my birthday. Thank you to all the staff for helping to make it a great night.
We recently dined here as a large group of 17, and unfortunately the experience was really disappointing, especially given the size of our booking and the amount we spent.nnFrom the start, service was poorly managed. Our food brought out at completely different times rather than together, leaving some people waiting while others had already finished.nnWhile we were still waiting for food, two appetisers were brought to our table that nobody in our group had ordered. We clearly told staff multiple times that they weren’t ours, but the waitress insisted they were already paid for and left them on the table anyway. Put in an awkward position, we eventually assumed it must have been a mistake on their end and ate them.nnAbout 30 minutes later, the manager came over and handled the situation very poorly. Instead of acknowledging the confusion, they were rude and confrontational, blaming us and demanding we pay for the items. We were even told we “should have just left them sitting there,” despite having already raised the issue several times with staff.nnFor a large group spending a significant amount, we expected much better organisation and professionalism. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled — particularly by management — was unacceptable and left a really negative impression.
Had a meal with a large group of friends for a 60th Birthday this week. Meal was very poor standard ,cold veges, $38.50 for a steak meal with 2 thin pieces of roast potato, dried up carrot and 1 over cooked piece of broccolini. $17.00 for a glass of Ned Pinot Gris. Sorry ! I won't be back any time soon. Place has gone backwards in all aspects.
