Came for dinner for two in winter. Long weekend meant it was quite busy.nnProsn1. Good food. Usual classics. Big portions.n2. Quick service.n3. They have mulled wine.n4. Great pub atmosphere.n5. Plenty of parking after hours.n6. Lots of stuff to do in the area if you come in the daytime.nnConsn1. It can be packed on weekend/holidays. Booking is recommended.n2. Prices are average.nnTLDR: Great pub in the mountains.
It was busy. We arrived without a booking and waited in the bar area for a table to become available. The staff were run off their feet, some were pleasant, others a but stand offish. The meals saved the night, big portions, and delicious. We'll be back when in the area for the food, of course!
Pricier than your average pub, but the atmosphere and food makes up for it. We came in for a 2pm late lunch after a long walk. Kitchen closes 3:30pm.nnFood took a while to arrive but it just meant we had time to enjoy our bev by the fire.nnBrisket burger exceeded expectations. Generous cuts of juicy brisket. Loads of kraut and balanced well with the mustard.nnWe also enjoyed the roasted vege warm chicken salad. Felt wholesome and not heavy on palate.
Good food served piping hot. Cozy on a cold night with its wood burners.
This pub has a great atmosphere and feels like a nice English pub. The smells from the kitchen were amazing as I walked in, and most of what I ordered was great... but my steak, which I ordered as a stock standard medium rare, was definitely cooked way past medium rare. It was lucky the garlic butter was not too stingy, otherwise it would have been dryer than an old boot! I was also not in a position to go hunting down any staff, so I just had to lump it This may have been a mere communication error, since the rest of the food I was served was really good. I'd give them another go if I was local, but this visit was disappointing.
