Excellent seasonal menu. Wednesdays is BYO night $10 corkage/bottle. This is our 3rd time at Ates and the food and service is phenomenal. The restaurant seats maximum 37, including outdoor courtyard. Well spaced tables, warm atmosphere and Shaun our waiter was fabulous.nThe duck with mandarin and sechuan was a stand out.nGluten free friendly also. A staple restaurant for Blackheath. Highly recommend.
A cozy place to relax and enjoy a good meal in beautiful Blackheath. We are vegetarians and never expected to find so many options to choose from.nExcellent quality and great quantities, love their beverages as well. Service was excellent, warm and friendly staff. Took great care in what we are looking for.nTip: Difficult to find a table during weekends specifically peak hours. Plan your visit accordingly.
delicious and incredible. every dish was amazing, the focaccia was cloudlike almost otherworldly and the mandarin duck was probably the most perfect serve of the poultry that’s ever graced my mouth. we also accidentally left behind an item at the restaurant and the stuff were proactive and hospitable, ringing us up to inform us. nothing but amazing things to say about this space.
Just an absolute classic spot in the mountains. Fantastic quality food every time, good wines, never leave hungry or feeling like you got anything other than great service and a fair price.
A wondrous display of tastes and textures.nnSubtle combinations of creaminess from the beef tartare, ricotta and macadamia cream, with savoury hints from the artichoke and saltiness from the potato galette. A taste of what was to come.nnA combo of smoky, sweet and sour flavours for the mains; from the lovely and surprising hit of sweetness from the brown butter on the pork neck and the smoky and sour notes of the charred witlof. The pork was tender and mixed well with the creaminess of the garlic yoghurt and the softness of the pumpkin and cauliflower.nnFinished by a light and silky texture of sweet and fruitiness with crème caramel and purple granita.nnThe restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the waiters and cooks were accommodating to the young ones in our party serving them with grilled fish and chips and chocolate mousse.nnDefinitely a place to visit for lunch for anybody visiting in the area.
