Friendly and prompt service. Super easy to deal with, shop online and get a yoga mat delivered interstate. Best and only Australian stockist of many leading overseas yoga brands, and at better prices compared to purchasing from overseas. Thanks.
Be warned! My chair mat seemed fine initially if expensive and with GST not initially disclosed but it cracked 1.5 years later and the customer service was appalling! I adhered to all the onerous conditions of sale make sure you click on the link to read them before buying but the bloke refused the 10 year warranty, claiming falsely that my carpet must have had some chemical treatment in the past, perhaps even during manufacture. When I wrote back to politely inform him otherwise, he was rude and refused to discuss the matter. Old carpet, new carpet, carpet shampooing, inadequate vacuuming and a range of other normal things are all claimed to void the warranty. Don't rely on reviews of people who've just made a purchase.
Bought a budget yoga bolster, just arrived and seems good quality - colour great & material feels thick & nice on skin. That being said, I did try to email to ask about shipping quotes before buying the item & didn't receive a response. Shipping cost was fine in the end, just would have appreciated a timely response.
Received yoga bolster as a gift. Not cheap, poor quality and no customer service!! Quilted bolster and the stitching is loose, loopy and very poorly stitched. Hung up on me on the phone, was rude and said they dont offer refunds. I would not recommend their products or business to deal with.
This store has great quality products at very good prices. I have bought two manduka mats and some other items over a couple transactions. Shipping has been pretty fast other than when COVID hit initially, and I received responses to all of my emails and postage requests within a few hours or the next morning if after business hours. For me, shipping for the mats to inner city Melbourne was $18. Yes the website is a bit clunky etc but it's worth it for the cheaper products compared to competitors.
I've been reluctant to post a review because of the backlash to the other reviews here; but I wish I had listened to those reviews. I previously bought all of my yoga equipment and gear online but I wanted to buy locally. My first attempt was still online but from this local store. The specific mat that I ordered online was unavailable although the website indicated that I had completed the purchase so the store called me to discuss this. This was kind of okay except the staff member was rude and rushed me and I ended up purchasing a mat that I was unhappy with. I went to the store in person and it was very clear that the "No Returns" policy is actively enforced. I was amazed at the store as they do have a LOT of stuff, and there are some really lovely girls working there. There are also some really not-nice people who seem to enjoy complaining about every other person which makes it an uncomfortable experience. I spoke to a lovely girl and got advice about how to keep my yoga mats in good condition because I was about to buy a 3rd mat!! $$!! I also got to listen to the constant complaints from the loud woman and I just tried to keep out of her way. I ended up buying a 3rd mat from the store and when I got it home, it was a similar experience to the first mat and what others have posted here: it had such a strong smell of rubber as did the store and was completely unusable for my needs. So then I was left with my original mat which had lost all of its grip; the mat I bought from here online which stunk of rubber and was awful to do yoga on; and this third mat which stunk of rubber and had zero grip, no matter what I did. I paid a high price for "good quality" mats from this store and I can't return either of them. I can't justify spending another $100+ in the hope of a good mat so I'll go back to buying a cheap mat online. It was not a nice experience and definitely not worth the money or the trip to the store.
Based on my experience: don't buy a chair mat expecting to be able to claim on their 10-year warranty. My experience indicates that a claim will almost invariably be rejected regardless of the truth of the matter I was told they do replace "two or three" a year though. All I can offer is that if it does crack, contact them immediately, because if you get multiple cracks they'll likely claim that it is "crazed" cracking, and therefore not covered by the warranty. Mine cracked after 30 months and when I contacted them about it I got a boilerplate and reasonably rude response telling me that it must have been come chemical the mat came in contact with rather than standard wear. Bear in mind that this chemical could be embedded in the carpet. My state went from "polite enquiry about a mat replacement" to "under no circumstances will I deal with this company again" over the space of a morning. They will offer the capacity to cut out a piece of the mat to have it assessed overseas though... which is obviously a great idea. There is also an offer to buy a new mat at a discount... but includes a caveat that you have to cleanse the area with water and let it dry out before laying the replacement otherwise any breakage will not be covered. I don't see it making any difference because you won't be able to prove you did it or that there wasn't some other mystery chemical around. They will even point at a VCAT decision that went their way as further proof that they know all and anything you tell them is insignificant and meaningless. Given the way I was communicated with, I'm surprised they have any paying customers left. I've always said that the measure of an organisation is how they deal with things that go wrong - on this category, EMP Industrial Australasia fails miserably. I wish I'd read these reviews before purchasing from them in the first place.
I ordered a new Manduka yoga mat, yoga bloster and yoga starp and they all came today. Very happy with the products. Postage took a few extra days 3 due to covid but that was expected! Yes it's a little annoying that they don't give you a shipping estimate at the time of ordering but you can contact them. I thought prices were pretty reasonable too. Thanks EMP :
I have bought amongst other things an Irmex Pilates bag that I could only use for 6 weeks due to the lockdown. There was a fault in the manufacturing process and the seam did not hold and the bag has now a hole. The dealings with them were unprofessional and after I have send them the requested photo and a follow up email they still did not get back to me. After my phone call I was advised that the owner has declined my request. Poor customer service. Would never buy there again and have already told members of my Pilates class.
*** Edited to note that less than 2 years later our EMP chair mat is now cracking and splitting. We bought a mat from Officeworks around the same time for another desk in our home, and it is still going strong. The mat is still under warranty but EMP refuse to honour it; beware companies like EMP that try to blame the customer to avoid warranty claims! Disappointed that our very expensive desk chair mat purchased from EMP moves around constantly. The plastic is good quality, however I chose the mat that's supposed to be for carpet and the spikes are nowhere near long enough. This means it has hardly any grip to stay put. I bought it for my son as the current home schooling situation means our fairly new carpet started showing signs of wear under his desk chair. So annoying having to pull this mat back into position every single day! My son isn't even heavy only 54kgs so I can't understand why this mat moves so much. I've even tried putting part of the mat under the desk to hold in place but even then it still manages to move!
