Really cool place to go for a wander as a first time visitor to Tauranga. Lots of cool little shops and galleries hidden amongst the streets which are littered with piece of art on the walls, the ground and the greenery! You really have to keep both eyes open else you’ll miss something. We didn’t get to go visit all the shops as were were travelling with a toddler who couldn’t sit still, but they all looked very interesting. Definitely worth a visit, and not to mention, everything here is very photogenic!
Yesssssss this place is AMAZING!!! Absolutely so weird that it's here but what a trip! Completely free to walk around and you can grab a coffee or lunch at the cafe. There's a cinema but I'm not actually sure how that works but it looks cool as! Honestly great afternoon out with the family or just wondering around like we do!
Shame could have a lot going for it lovely old buildings ... but closed on a weekend surely the busiest time of the week when families and those that work are out and about looking for things to do? Felt sorry for the three retailers who were open, other disgruntled visitors wandering around frustrated at the closed state. Unless the entire complex is open not sure how the three retailers are going to fare .. maybe could open as a ghost town?
A great place for all things art. Lots of old historical buildings.
It's a vintage village, the café has got good bakery
Great spot to relive history with markets on some days, many shops and a few radio stations to make you feel like dancing. There is also a lovely bakery The Whipped Baker" with a basic breakfast menu & selling the best donuts & Freaking Shakes in Tauranga
We were searching for places to visit in Tauranga and nobody ever told us about this Historic Village. What a charming old western looking village! Featuring the past, it brings us the feeling we traveled back to the old days. Theater, coffee shops, radio station, chapel among other attractions make this place a mandatory visit. Will come back again this summer definitely!
Cute place be better if there was more variety in shops as it's very arty. Still recommend checking it out!
Love this place. Interesting stores and activities going on. Very enthusiastic people especially at the village radio station which is a must visit and brimming with nostalgia
Nice place. Vintage-inspired shopping complex made up of original & replica buildings & cobblestone streets. It's a small but very nice area. Good for kids. They also have a cinema. If you're a photographer interested in vintage style photos, you must visit this place. They have replicas of over 100 years old buildings and cars.
