Story

The Golden Pig Food and Wine School is owned by Katrina and Mark Ryan who between them have a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality, restaurant and design industries.

The school offers Hands-on cooking classes in a variety of popular cuisines. We also offer education & appreciation classes in wine, beer and spirits.

General classes are open to the public and we also offer specialized classes and events that can be tailored to suit private or corporate groups, such as wine and food matching classes, corporate team building and special occasion classes. Our classes aim to be informative, educational and fun at the same time.

The school is located in a funky warehouse in inner city Newstead. The space has been designed to be as flexible as possible and includes a kitchen area, lounge and retail space as well as a delightful dining area and rear bbq deck. The premises are available for private bookings such as book launches, product showcases and corporate events.

Mission

We are passionate about good food and wine. Our classes will teach you, not just about the joys of cooking, eating and drinking, but also about the provenance of the produce that we source and use. We are a big supporter of local, small-scale producers and through our classes hope to connect the general public with some of the best food producers and winemakers that Australia has to offer.
