Story

The Fox Darkroom
Established in 2014, The Fox Darkroom offers a regular program of workshops: covering manual photography, film developing and darkroom printing. Its well equipped darkroom serves a growing community of members, who have access to everything needed to make stunning analog prints. New members are always welcome – and for those seeking an adventure, The Fox Darkroom also organises international workshops in the form of week-long, instructor led photographic tours of countries such as Cambodia and France.

The Fox Gallery
The Fox Gallery, open from August 2016, provides an outlet for emerging and established photographers to share work that deserves to be seen. Works exhibited range from photo documentaries to journals, travel photography and alternative methods. Operating primarily as a rental venue, The Fox Gallery is a platform for artists to further their reach, and to foster public engagement with photography as a powerful and relatable storytelling medium.

Brilliant resource, much more than just a darkroom....

I had a blast at the photography and developing workshop. The class was interesting and extremely hands-on, the darkroom was beautiful and well equipped, and Tom was a lovely, genuine guy with plenty of wisdom to share. I can't wait to go back again and again. And, to top it all off, the course was one of the cheapest of its kind I have ever found. Great value, great atmosphere, and great practical learning. The Fox Darkroom is a fantastic place to go to spend time with like-minded film enthusiasts.

Great facilities and space

I completed the film processing course recently. The studio and surrounding environment is the perfect place to get in touch with your creative side. I felt instantly at home in the studio and keen to get learning.
Tom (instructor) is very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. I's clear that he is genuinely passionate about photography in all forms, and loves his role teaching the traditional processes of photography, film and printing.
I recommend the camera and film developing course to those who are learning for the first time, as well as those looking to refresh their traditional photographic skills.

I had a fantastic day at the Fox DarkRoom. The studio is beautiful and has a very creative ambience. Tom took us through everything from the very basics of  black & white film function to shot composition. Teaching was hands on and interactive all the way through. 

Tom's passion for photography is infectious. I left motivated to pick up some film and dust of my old SLR. 

Would I unreservedly recommend Fox Darkroom.
