Best coffee in Dunedin hands down. In house roasted coffee, excellent baristas, great service and they have a real passion to provide great coffee.

While the food is great, albeit slightly overpriced, and the coffee is good (not excellent). The service may be good on some days with the normal staff, however, I chanced an encounter with the owner and unfortunately was disgusted with his service. After being slightly put aback by the pricing of a frittata, I was then offered a scone at $4 (apparently he'd given me a 50c discount). I then asked for a small coffee with a couple extra shots and then got the bill for $10. I thought that $10 was a little steep and asked (what I thought was unassumingly) how much the coffee was. Well I might as well have asked him to kill himself. He retorted angrily "well if you don't like our prices then you should go find somewhere else to eat," what followed was one of the most petty arguments I've had where he continued to berate and grumble angrily at me. I'm not sure whether my burnt coffee that followed was on purpose or the icing on the cake for this review but was thoroughly disappointed on somewhere that I, previously, quite enjoyed going. If the person I dealt with wasn't the owner I probably wouldn't have written this review but being the face of the business I have two words to succinctly wrap this up: Grow up!

Kevin and Mandy, exceptional people providing me with my much needed start to my day. All the coffee I experience around the world on my travels is compared to my daily Fix...nothing has beaten it yet!
