The Deck on Parkyn -google, trip ad, facebook - This is no lie – we come here every time we fly over from the UK! It was the first fish place our friends took us to in 2001 and we have been several times now and it is still fabulous. Great fresh seafood, to either have cooked and eat up or downstairs, take home and prepare yourself or a bit of both and both which is what I did two days ago. The King Prawns are huge and even the medium size prawns are three times the size of what we call King Prawns in the UK, so be careful how many you order. There is something brilliant about sitting upstairs in the Deck with the fresh air blowing through and eating with your fingers. They also serve alcohol so a nice crisp bottle of Pinot does go down rather well. There is a kid’s park right outside for them to play and free parking. It is just under 1km from Mooloolaba Beach so a brilliant place to eat lunch and I can’t rate it highly enough.

This is the worst experience I have ever had as a diner and would recommend others stay home if this is their only option to go out I ordered food for my group at 7pm after waiting in line to order for 15 minutes. It’s now 820pm and we still don't have any food the waitress comes over and asks what we're waiting on and I look at her incredulously and say our entire order and she asks what our order was so I told her and told her I also wanted all of my money back because we didn't get our food and we were not waiting any longer - by this point it was well past 90mins So she gave me back $52 and it should've been 59 for the fresh seafood platter. When I asked her about it she said she rang in the wrong thing (hot platter @52) and I clarified that she rang in the wrong thing and how much it was supposed to be and we went over the math and that was it. She was very nice about it. Super apologetic and everything. As we left I checked my visa app and it said I had been charged $80. So clearly something happened and she didn't give me the right amount. She shorted me almost 30$. So I immediately went back (maybe 3 minutes after leaving) and asked her and it was like a switch had flipped she kept telling me that I kept changing the story, raising her voice towards me, telling me I was being rude for asking for my money back and that I should have come to the counter before this time to make sure my meal was coming. I had the money on the counter to show her what she had given me so she took all the money back and brought out a calculator and started going off about how she wasn’t going to charge me for the water which meant that I would have all of the money I was owed. Except for the fact that if she isn’t charging me it means she actually owes me more money. She asked to see the visa app with the charge and I obliged and her only comments were that it’s impossible and I had to have made a purchase somewhere else in their establishment. Ignoring my response that there would be two separate charges if that were the case. I again told her that I wanted all of my money back and she gave me 60$ and said that was all and I looked at her and said no, that is not all of it you still owe me $20. She raised her voice again and started slamming her hands onto the counter. At this point, I'm assuming her manager, came over and gave me my money without wanting to know what had happened which makes me think this happens very often. This entire ordeal took over twenty minutes to find the solution of giving me back all of my money because we didn't get the food we ordered over 90 minutes prior and then having to deal with her tantrums when she couldn't count correctly and tried to make us look like we were the bad people because she short changed us Don’t go here. It’s not worth your time or your money.

Came with my girlfriend and her family, but I don't eat seafood so decided to try a steak which was $32, asked to have it medium rare. It came out within 5 minutes and the salad was a bit of pesky lettuce with some cucumber on it, I cut in to the steak which was well done and tasted like it was bought from the bargain bin at Aldi, chips were average too. They should have a $15 menu with this steak on it, bloody disgraceful.

Terrible! Scallops were tasteless obviously been in the freezer too long. Oysters kilpatrick tasted nice but we only got full size forks to eat them and when we asked for extra plates they gave us plastic ones. This was nothing more than an average fish and chip shop with restaurant prices. Don’t go there. Unfortunately Fish’s down the road was booked out. It was our anniversary dinner and one we won’t forget in a hurry. I think it’s the worst seafood I’ve ever had. It makes no sense to be right at the water and serving up sub standard food. They obviously did not care about the customer at all.

Local resident - we eat here all the time. It is very expensive, servings are small, but "real" seafood always is - and we do enjoy this place. A few things; ordered bug meal and chips once and only got only 1/2 of one bug (which was reheated with some melted butter on it) annoying the way people from downstairs can bring their fish and chips up to the restaurant part and take restaurant seating at will (section of an area for downstairs takeaways maybe? would that be fair?) annoying in cold/bad weather when people come up from downstairs via water and enter via the side doors unleashing a cyclone (wind) into the restaurant (south side) licensed and plate and cutlery service if ordering upstairs napkins on table handy noisy sometimes when busy But overall, it is very good "real" seafood (*very expensive) - but the spot is quite nice and if you can get a park - we do pay the premium as it does seem fresh for the majority of times we have had it.
