Built in 1862 The Crown is Dunedin's oldest pub still trading. It's one of the last real bars in the CBD where you can still get a good honest jug. Frequently a live music venue, or enjoy a game or three of pool in the pool bar. Main bar is a tribute to Dunedin's vibrant alt music scene.

The Crown is one of the last standing dirty grubby live music venues and it is fantastic! Full of old school, small town vibes but always a good show. Absolutely kudos to the support the Crown gives to our Dunners music scene, and it's always a good time.
Great small band venue with a pub feel from the 80s. Place is a little rough around the edges but has a great feeling...well run, great bands....often metal and death metal but also Dunedin sound like Black sale house.
Great venue for live music.dont miss Ajax and the washing up.

Everything about this restaurant and bar is urban chic, the staff were so accommodating when I went all pretentious. The food was delicious, the wine list doesn't do the food justice however. It was packed on a Sunday and many beautiful people were there to dine and chitty chat and laugh. Ambience - 20 out of 10, food 20 out of 10. Staff were wonderful A must do dining experience in Dunedin...

Best and only working class pub in Dunedin. Fantastic pub, with Jones the best publican in town. Great service.
Always a fun night at the crown hotel, Jones is a great host and looks after his customers well.
