The Craic Irish tavern is a small, cozy bar where you can enjoy a refreshing Irish cider in the sun, or a warming winter whiskey in front of the fireplace.

Story

The Craic offers both a fantastic selection of international and NZ beers, wines, spirits and whiskys as well as an extensive menu for brunch, lunch and dinner. Our kitchen is best known for it's amazing seafood dishes - including our home made seafood chowder, and our phenomenal seafood platter - as well as locally sourced game and meats, including braised hare, venison pie and the delectable lamb shanks. We serve food all day and well into the night, serving dinner to about 9.30pm. We have soups and pasta specials changing on a regular basis and with our new pastry chef, we have fresh muffins almost daily!
Our range of tap beers range from Irish - including Guinness, Kilkenny and Bulmers - to European - Oranjeboom and Erdinger - to Kiwi, including our very own Craic Ale, Brewed just for us by well-know Dunedin Green Man breweries.
Our wide range of beers extends to our fridges, housing well over 40 different types of beers from all over the globe. Our spirit selection is much the same, along with a choice of many different Scotch and Irish whisk(e)y.
We have live music from 9.30pm 4 nights a week, Wednesday to Saturday, and our brilliant musos ensure they keep you all singing and sometimes even dancing along. Our house DJ plays from 12.30 most Friday and Saturday nights, playing music you love and music you hate to admit you love. As long as there are people drinking, dancing, and generally having a good time, we will stay open so that you can enjoy your night that wee bit longer.
