Good place to drink and eat. However, the food prices are very expensive. There are car parks but they're limited. Side street car parks are timed.
A pub with character. You don't get to say that often these days. The food is delicious with a good variety and options for dietary requirements. Excellent vibe with friendly staff. Can sometimes be very noisy in the dining areas due to the lack of soft furnishings.
I have loved the Colonist for years however the past few months have had disappointing experiences. Booked over the phone the day before for breakfast in January only to show up to a closed pub & told they no longer do breakfast. Was excited to go back today for brunch but really disappointed again. We were one of the first tables to order but waited 30 minutes for a cup of tea and 50 minutes for food. The only reason given was there was only 1 chef on which we were only told after I followed up after 40 minutes. The food was good in the end but $18 for 2 pancakes is ridiculous.
This used to be my favourite place for breakfast on Sunday. I will never go there again. Very poor menu. Toast is extra when you order a breakfast. No options have bacon. It used to be packed, this morning only two tables occupied, and only one after my group left to have a decent breakfast elsewhere with toast included. Sad.
The food was delicious and so nice to see some unique menu items, the dining room was quirky and the staff were all very friendly. Will be back again.
Great bar staff, beautiful meals especially the salad with the snitzy! Nice vintage building, has character. Convenient parking.
Waited 50 mins for food and waitress came out with the completely wrong dish, we told her what we had ordered and she replies saying they don’t have that on the menu.. a steak sandwich is on the brunch menu - we ordered and paid for it? Other customers then preceded to get served the steak sandwich before we got ours. Also currently waiting an hour for a juice. What’s changed? Change it back. Old colonist was every staff member seemed to have no clue what to do. They need more training, which isn’t their fault.
Gorgeous heritage building, mixture of original and renovated facade, cute interior. Lovely dining area and great atmosphere for drinks with friends.
Excellent pub experience. Great atmosphere and very popular. Excellent variety of drinks and some great craft brews on tap. We had a few nrbbles and the quality was excellent. The place really came alive after knockoff and I could see why it's a popular watering hole. I look forward to returning someday.
Very busy on a Friday evening got sat outside. A bit chilly no heaters on. Food was well cooked and the chicken schnitzels and chicken parmigana were very tasty. The grilled fish was cooked well and the salad was fresh.
