Won't go back to this shop again, staff was very rude. Sunday 4 Dec 2022 at 4.05 pm. I didn't want a cake one from display. The staff started argument that it's fresh and nothing wrong with the cake. All I wanted a cake not from display and there was no reason for her to have an argument. Need to learn how to deal with customer.
Surprised to read some of the other reviews. I had a very different experience. I ordered both the Belgian Mud cake and Strawberry Field cake, delicious! Especially the Strawberry one, was soft and moist. Thank you!
I am very disappointed with cheesecake shop in Belconnen ACT. Bought a cake for my husband’s birthday and cut it with friends on next day and kept in fridge overnight. But cake did not taste okay , not fresh at all and bad odour . Felt uncomfortable and embarrassed. Look for refund and never wants to go back again.
I rang up this store to ask a question if the continental cheesecake was made with pasteurised cream cheese as I am pregnant and wanted to be sure it was before I ordered one.. was told by a woman server she didn't know what that even means and which i responded by seeing if she could check with someone else. She then checked with the Baker in whom also didn't know if it was pasteurised or not.. I asked her if she could check on the packet of the cheese to see if it was written anywhere stating it is pasteurised.. in which she responded by telling me "I'm the only one serving " which I replied I was happy to hold as I have tried calling a few stores in which no one knows either" and she responded " to check the ingredients list online or to call the head office " she then replied " you have so many avenues to check I don't know what your problem is". I replied saying sorry but I'm just a customer and your being quite rude I asked her for her name and she then hung up on me.. Working in a cake store I feel that it should be their job to know what ingredients are put in these cakes and to know if their cheeses and dairy are pasteurised or not.. I'm very upset as I have literally been calling from store to store today with no resolution. And to top it off with this experience from the Belconnen store has made me even more upset. I really hope that the staff can be trained properly on these sort of things considering they are the ones selling it to customers. I will never be buying from this store after this horrible experience.
My Sister got one of the Rainbow cakes for her sons 11th Birthday and turned out really tasteless and no one at the party enjoyed it. Maybe if it had flavour for each colour it would of been better but I recommend to not buy the rainbow sponge cake..
The cakes are not fresh and taste dry which left me disappointed on my first visit itself. Many other great places around the area for cheesecakes. Moreover, they gave a promotion on doordash for buy 1 get 1 free quarter cake slice but there was no option to order the slice. On calling the restaurant, they made an excuse that they don’t have the quarter size boxes for all the coming days, so the promotion was void and they can’t offer it in anyway. The boxes would be available 3 days after the promotion ends. Why do you have to put a fake promotion if you can’t fulfil it?
We have gone here consistently for birthdays, special events or just when we feel like having a sweet snack. Customer service is always good and there's always a wide range of cakes - both cheesecakes and non-cheesecakes alike! Reasonable prices with the extra $5 if you want writing and we have never had any problems at all when we have come here. Looking forward to trying some of their other cakes :
Have they changed the recipe for the caramel mud cake? I always purchase a full caramel mud cake and they are usually always delicious but my most recent experience was quite disappointing. They've made it a lot smaller and now use some sort of cheap tasting chocolate around the edges of the cake. I peeled the chocolate off and it seems like they use this method to try cover the dreadful work they've done on the edges around the cake. Not sure if I just got a dud but its kind of put me off ever purchasing one from here again.
I ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake online which was listed to need a 3 day order period. The day before I was supposed to pick the cake up, I got a call from the store saying that they have only just looked at their orders and that they couldn't fulfil my order. I ordered on Thursday for a Sunday pick-up. If you don't plan on looking at your orders until the day before, maybe you shouldn't offer a cake that you need a 3 day window for.... If you order from here, make sure you have a backup cake planned because I didn't and it made the day before the birthday quite stressful.
Wildberry baked cheesecake bought on 24/3/22 at Belconnen Cheesecake Shop had uncooked pastry base and sides instead of the usual biscuit base and sides. Also weird decoration of ?cream. Also about 2 cm smaller in diameter than they used to be. Disappointing. Won’t be going back.
