It was unfortunately still too cold at the end of September for a beekeeping tour, but we were able to go on the Honey Spinning Experience hosted by Nick, and it was awesome! Minimal hands on, but we did get a chance to heat some honeycomb and dispense honey into our own labelled jars from the spinning machine. Nick was generous with his knowledge and we had a blast learning more about bees. Definitely recommended! The cafe sells plenty of goods like honeys with free samples! and meads, great options for gifting.
Delicious! So many choices to sit in the gardens, under the umbrella on the deck or inside on the cosy couch. Great coffee and a ultra satisfying breakfast. Felt for them struggling with recovering out of covid but was pleased to see the hussle and passion from the staff working - even on their day off.
Brought the family down to get their Honey fix. Nick is very knowledgeable and has some of the greatest honey offerings in NZ. Staff are very accommodating and go above and beyond to explain the honey and its origins. The cafe serves up a great pizza and coffee!
Gorgeous little spot! Came here a few months back for a friends birthday and did the soap and candle making workshop which was great fun - made even better with a tasty cheeseboard and wine! Also do great coffee here - thanks team!
Cool place. We visit regularly when in QT. I like watching the bees in the glass box. A bit hidden so there's always space. Coffee is usually ok, but not great last time we visited. Pretty cold inside in winter, wish it was a bit cozier.
Had a wonderful time learning about the bees and bottling our own honey. Nick have a great and engaging talk as he taught us the different stages of how bees make honey. Enjoyed our time and definitely recommend the session.
Interesting place, worth visiting The coffee needed improvement. I ordered 2 latte, and I got these have a look at my picture please. A barista training may help to improve the latte pouring. I didn’t expect any latte art, but at least the foam portion needed to be right - one had too much foam like a cappuccino, another too little became a Flat white.
I always have a lovely time here, especially when it's a sunny day and you can make use of the outdoor seating. Definitely one of my favourite go-to places. There is also a play area for kids. They have good vegetarian & vegan options to choose from.
My partner and I decided to do the honey crafting activity which was awesome! Nick was very involved and guided us as well as explained a lot during the course. Very well done multitasking given that Queenstown is going through a staff shortage. We walked away with a beautiful lip balm, hand cream and candle all crafted by us! Highly recommended!!
I attended a honey making experience and our host instantly made me feel comfortable. We were given suits for our protection with the perfect sprinkling of good humour. It was fascinating to discover how honey is made. You were placed at the centre of the process and got the chance to hold up trays of bees. I found this to be great way to see bees up close. Not to mention the fact that we got to taste some honey who wouldn’t love that?. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable with a variety of anecdotes and history. I left feeling more enlightened about the amazing world of bees. Parking: Easy parking
