Braidwood Bakery is the go to bakery in town. They make good pastries here that isn't matched elsewhere in town. I ordered the steak and mushroom pie, spinach and fetta roll and they were both reasonably priced and tasted great. Even on a busy day where the tables are mostly booked out, they still have plenty of pastries for take away orders. This is worthwhile visiting if stopping by Braidwood. Regards @fooderarri
I always love a good bakery with a great selection of pastries pies and bread. Coffee looks good as well, but takeaway cups so I’ll pass.
We took a drive from Canberra to Braidwood for lunch and stopped at the bakery. It’s a classic country bakery with plenty on offer. We tried the chunky steak and chunky chicken pies - the steak was hearty and full of flavour, while the chicken had less meat than expected but still tasted good. Worth a visit if you’re passing through or want to go for a drive one weekend.
Detoured to Braidwood purposely to come try them! Staff were friendly and helpful, offering their menu list with dietaries. Their simple vegetable pie tastes like a no frills minestrone soup wrapped in pastry. Ordered the apple strudel for takeaway…tastes as delicious as it looks, reheated
Odd experience at the bakery today. The customer service from the older woman was atrocious! She forced us into one big line and then had a go at anyone who was trying to look in the cabinets. Absolute chaos! The younger woman who served us was absolutely lovely and kind but the woman on a power trip made me wonder whether we should come back she was that rude! Food was great, had a as usual delicious pie and my daughter had an apple turnover.
