Fabulous outdoor dining over the water. Fresh warm cheese scones with delicious coffee. Friendly staff, great service.nEntertainment provided by large container ship being guided into Harbour by tugs.

Casual dining outside on a fine day is a treat on any occasion and unbeatable in calm sunny weather. The essence of Nelson.

I had 2 out of town visitors, and I took them to see The Wellington Sea Shanty Society on a Friday night, and we had the best time ever. Such a fabulous venue, with fun and friendly staff and excellent food and drinks. And a balcony deck with the best views in Nelson. And the Sea Shanty Society were brilliant- go and see them if you ever get the chance. Bravo The Boathouse, and thanks very much!!

My hubby and I went here for lunch today  Thurs . At a first glance when you 1st walk in its a little uninspiring, looked like abit of an empty room with a few tables close to the windows and a bit of a bar on the right with a really cool type chandelier, but this didn't put us off. Anyway we walked through the door which took us outside on to the deck, nothing to flash dining style wise, but the view on the water was amazing. Now the gentleman host was super friendly and abit of a larrakin I think, we had a great yarn with him. Now I do need to mention the food, its a very basic menu, not too much on offer, but honestly the food was delicious and very sizable portions too and we were suprised at how quick the food came out too, so really prompt service on meals and drinks, friendly staff, we were clearly impressed.  Would definitely go back again. Thankyou for great lunch, food, service and views was perfect

Great view with friendly staff. Few Gluten free food options, and good selection of food. Prices were not bad and wait time was pretty quick. Would recommend a swing by even just for a drink to enjoy the view
