Sue was amazing to work with for our wedding cake! We had a fun tasting appointment, and she was great when we changed our mind several times on final design. We actually ended up going with a design she recommended and couldn’t have been happier. The cake was beautiful and delicious - I highly recommend her! Her cupcakes in the store are also delicious!
I had a great experience here. Both gals were so sweet and friendly! I told them I read that they had gf cupcakes online. They showed me what flavors they had today of gf cupcakes and I tried both! They make them fresh daily! Gf flavors they had today: raspberry and carrot cake. I don't normally don't like any carrot cake but their's was very good! Come here if you are gf!!!
Sue and her team at That Takes the Cake are incredible. They made the wedding cake for my husband and I in early October. When we went in for a tasting, we LOVED all of the cakes. My husband isn't a fan of sweets, but he was so excited about what we tried. Sue wrote up a quote shortly after, and was so thoughtful in asking questions to get exactly what we wanted in our cake. She delivered the cake on time, put on the flowers, and it looked stunning. Guests told is it was the best cake they had ever eaten. I would absolutely recommend That Takes the Cake for cakes or cupcakes. We will be back.
Best cupcakes I have ever had hands down. I was a little shocked by the prices at first but once I tried how excellent the quality was and just unique all the flavors are I was happy to pay that much because they are truly worth every penny. Plus, if you go in on your birthday you can get a free mini cupcake! I've gotten a free cupcake my last 3 birthdays and my girlfriend hasn't missed a birthday there in 5 years. Now if only they could open a location in Port Angeles...
Best cupcake I've had on the peninsula! Yes, they're pricey but isn't everything nowadays? I tried a couple of different cupcakes and both were great. The frosting wasn't too sweet or overwhelming and the cake was moist. They have small, medium, and large for different flavors and we had two medium sized cupcakes. Just the right amount for dessert.
The best cupcakes I’ve ever had! We live out of town and walked in and ordered one of each type of mini cupcake for a party. They were amazing! Such a warm and welcoming environment as well. We will be back, thank you!
BEST CAKE IN SEQUIM! The cake was Delicious! Absolutely delicious ! A 3 layer, chocolate cake with white frosting that was so rich, you had to eat it slowly! Ahhhhh. We were in heaven with wonderful flavors. Best birthday cake I have ever had. Thank you, thank you for brightening my birthday since my daughter could not make it here. I ordered a gluten free cake for my birthday. I was given a number of fillings to choose from for between the layers. I had a hard time choosing. I had first spoken with the Owner about a cake that had several more restrictions than just gluten free and she checked, making sure she could accommodate all my restrictions. Happily she could. Travel plans changed so I only needed the gluten free restrictions. And That Takes The Cake delivered!.
Our wedding cake will live in infamy! It was so gorgeous and delicious. It was crafted and delivered with love and care. Thank you Sue and Paul!
What a great find. We came in on a Tuesday night. Tuesdays are buy 2, get 1 free on their mini cupcakes. We bought 6 minis and 2 medium cupcakes, which allowed us to sample 8 different flavors. They were all incredibly moist and tasted great. The peanut butter chocolate was my favorite. We will definitely stop back in here next time we're are in Sequim.
Absolutely love this place! Their cakes and cupcakes are great! Also, we are in the process of creating our wedding cake, and Sue was very helpful. They have examples of wedding cakes, and provide cake tasting sessions to select the right combination of flavors. They also can create any kind of custom cake for you, too! And don't be concerned about the flavors, they have plenty, and they taste delicious! Definitely recommended!
