Had ribs, steak, burger, and nachos here. Overall the foods were good. However, the place was a bit noisy, not from the customers or the music, but from staff kept dropping their plates or cutlery. The staff were rushing too much. If they kept calm, just work at a normal pace, it would make the place felt better.
Loaded potato skin was a great choice to start the meal. Cannot miss out the Jack Daniel's series, both pork and beef were awesome, but I personally prefer pork. Good dining experience but a bit expensive.
Mac&chess was great, so was the veggie Burger. The ancient grains salad was not good - feels like was in the fridge for a while with no flavors but the brown rice , it felt ancient but apart from that it was just a side of brown rice. The service was fine but not amazing when we shared our views of the salad the waiter didn't really care and that's a shame thanks for the hospitality.
Happy hour 4.30pm-7pm, 7 days a week. Beer & ciders from $3.50, house spirits from $6, cocktails from $10, premium spirits from $7.50, top shelf spirits from $9.
The portions were small and therefore not worth the price. I honestly felt hungry in about an hour again in the middle of my movie at the cinema. For the price I paid for the pasta, I would rather go to KFC or Hungry Jacks. On another occasion,I was disappointment when I tried to use an SDA voucher here on a public holiday they refused it. However, it clearly mentioned on the edge of the voucher that it was inclusive all daysno exclusions for public holiday mentioned and it was not expired ! I had the food anyway at full price as I did not want to make a fuss and ruin our night. It clearly appears your staff was not trained appropriately.
TGIF Pros: Staff were friendly, and generally nice. There is a variety of food options, something to suit everyone. The quantities are quite big, more of a fast food style restaurant. The location is convenient, especially if your shopping on chapel street and need a quick stop. Cons: Prices are quite expensive, especially for a food chain restaurant. Tips: Food portions are quite large, so sharing a plate can save you a lot of $$.
Terrible food, and questionable service. I would not eat here again and highly discourage others from doing so. Though the staff were quite friendly, we didn't receive basics such as serviettes or cutlery. Similarly we didn't receive any water despite our requests for it. The potato skins were barely warm and were quite soggy. The chicken burger was quite average and was incredibly overpriced for what it was. My friend who ordered the Buffalo wings felt that the recipe must have changed and was very disappointed in them. The sauce seemed watered down and the celery was just 3 tiny strips which was an absurd serving for its cost. Overpriced and terrible food.
I love Fridays since the first time I visited it in the USA long ago. I was really happy to find this restaurant in Melbourne, too. The main attraction is signature ribs and buffalo wings, both super delicious! Of course, in Melbourne this restaurant is a bit on a pricey side in the US its price level is pretty okay. And it's a shame, guys, that you got rid of your Ultimate size cocktails and left only standard size on the menu : I really enjoyed ultimates. All the rest is excellent, thank you!
Great games area for the kids, but the entire place felt under staffed and the food was just not good at all. The pasta in macaroni was stale and hard and the cheese looked like some sort of slop. My salad arrived without the chicken and was presented terribly. Lastly the price was ridiculous for what we received. TGI Friday...sort your food out urgently and ensure there is a good standard of service. I had to get up numerous times just to order and pay.
Terrible food. The waiter was great. But a cheap quality tiny porter house steak that was full of nerve and tasted like plastic. The nachos were completely tasteless. And $7 for a bottle of mineral water which to be honest was the best part of the meal. All in all quite terrible. I will never again go to one of these plastics USA franchises again. I'm used to high quality high variety food from Spain. These places are not for me.
