Telstra Shop Port Melbourne

Worst service - the shop assistant stuffed up my order for two new phones so the system locked us out of upgrading for three days. He didn’t take responsibility for his error and wouldn’t call technicians to try to fix it. Great Christmas present - NOT!

Shout out to young Kevin Menon! I have never had such a hard time recharging credit on my mobile. I could not access any way to recharge my phone which was extremely odd. After trying to phone ALL of the Telstra customer service numbers, I was not able to recharge. I also tried downloading the app and the app glitched out of the sign in and took me straight back to my phone background… even after uninstalling and reinstalling. Frustrated and ready to just give up after at least 7 hours of trying to get credit which is usually an extremely easy task. I was finally referred to Kevin Menon. He fixed my problem within a few minutes….I only wish I had spoken with him sooner!!! He is truly a blessing to the company. Huge recognition and thanks to him! THANK YOU KEVIN! After having my authority on my mum's account expired but had not been informed of this I went to the Telstra shop with power of attorney in hand. New staff member was very friendly but needed guidance by her manager Joena. She was the opposite, unfriendly, scrutinising everything like I was a criminal. I have been going to that Telstea shop for nearly 20 years. My details were completely incorrect on their system related to my mum to the point that she made me get my marriage certificate even though my details were correct in their other records. A horrid end to what had been a good day. Some empathy would go a long way Joena. My mum is in a nursing home and cannot present herself to your store

I went into this Telstra shop today with a neighbour who simply had to pickup a new modem. All round it's an impressive looking telco store, well laid out, bright and well lit, and has lots of the latest phones, tablets and accessories on display. However, as other reviewers here have experienced, good customer service is somewhat lacking. Yes sales staff were attending to other customers but not one of them acknowledged that we were in the store. Not that the shop was busy see my photos here as we were the only customers waiting. There wasn't a crowd of people so a simple acknowledgement, 'be with you shortly' was easily possible and would have been nice. Of course in our case we had no choice but to wait as we came to pickup a modem otherwise I would have insisted that we walk out. It took over 15 minutes before we were eventually served and in that time I was able to take many photos. Customer service in this shop leaves a lot to be desired!

Store manager requires higher training in the customer service sector, tried to charge $60 to ‘assist’ with transferring over data from old phone to new. Felt very uncomfortable, disrespected and very much discriminated against.

Got my new Phone in less than 30 minutes. The staff who helped me was so efficient. She answered all my questions and concerns articulately given that I have trauma from the past upgrading my phone. Will visit here again for sure.

I visited this store months ago and the service that I've received from Joena was exceptional!!! The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I received outstanding service from Ryan who assisted in not only selecting the right phone for my needs, but also in setting it up. The store was also busy with new customers which he promptly acknowledged when they came in. Finally he sent me a follow-up message in the days after my store visit to check-in on how I was going with my new phone. Continue the outstanding customer service - well done Ryan!

This is the first time I have made a post. My disgust with the Port Melbourne Telstra shop has forced me to write this review. My 85 year old mother was discharged from 1 month in hospital this Saturday. Unfortunately my mothers phone did not work and I also needed to buy her a new charging cable. First Ryan the store manager tried to up sell me to some type of docking station… this confused me at first however I just purchased the cable which I wanted. As the phone did not work I asked Ryan to investigate who advised me that my mother owed $752 for 2 months which I had to pay before her phone could be reconnected. I explained that this was not possible as my mother had been in hospital for a month and only had a phone. He advised me that my mother had signed a number of contracts for internet, iPhone, iPad to mention only a few, which meant a $300+ monthly phone bill. I questioned this at which stage Ryan laughed and said it’s NOT MY PROBLEM. I asked Ryan about the up selling he tried with me when I purchased the cable and asked if it was normal practice. He said laughed again and said YES, just doing my job.. This is nothing more than elder abuse. Selling unwanted products to elderly people they do not understand or need. According to Ryan the whole event of up selling and my mothers problem was nothing more than a joke. Shame Telstra shame! TIME TO SELL MY SHARES
