Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Found it very easy to get kiwi orchard work after arriving. 50/50 backpackers and locals. There are work advertisements in reception and I would expect asking around the site to uncover some job leads. Kitchen is large and cleaned to a high standard daily. The men's shower block is a bit run down and dirty looking. But the women's so I've heard is more modern and clean and has a keycode for entry. Locals are really friendly and chatty. Pods are cozy, they come with electricity, table and chairs, mini fridge, large frame shelving, dust pan and brush and two electric portable heaters. Which we found were needed . 25ish minute walk to Te Puke if you're without a car! If you're interested in working in the Kiwi capital that is Te Puke we recommend checking here for availability!
Visited this place again with my family this time round after 10 yrs or so.Very impressive of new changes. New Owners very friendly and hard working making this place looks nicer. I noticed theres alot of new changes coming but we love our staying here for 3 weeks using our tent and will comeback again.
Very basic camp that I wouldn't really call a 'holiday' camp. Traveling solo on a bicycle, I could make it work for me but for a family or retired holiday makers, probably not a good choice. A lot of permanent or semi-permanent residents; most ok but a few sketchy types that might make some folks nervous. Management has obviously had issues with residents - see picture of sign in kitchen as an example a first for me in being a bit over the top with a 'big brother' vibe. Busy street lines campground so bring earplugs I did fortunately!.
Stayed for a month here, lovely staff and great place to spend holidays, the manager was truly helpful and nice all the time. Thank you!!!
Great place to stay if working at EastPak. Managers a really friendly, and have clearly worked very hard to keep this site free of undesirables. Brand new showers and toilets with lots of high pressure hot water. Nice grass pitches and a very reasonable price for a weekly rate.
ATTENTION GOOGLE This place is awesome, totally different from the pictures shown, needs updated photos/layout map of this beautiful place! ASAP!!! please I'm currently staying there for seasonal work, AWESOME HOSTS! Obide by the rules and conditions and you will enjoy! It's peaceful laid back and happy campers
Came to have a look at the place, interested in finding a multi-week stay in the area. Owner was quite rude and refused to show us around anywhere, saying, "I don't have time to show people around who come in here trying to beat me down on price" when we politely enquired about the prices we saw on WikiCamps. She verbally berated us like children for using the app as a reference point, but then admitted that their prices are listed nowhere on their own website, so I have no idea how on earth she expected us to know what the prices were ahead of time. Needless to say she will not be getting our business. Yikes!
Donna and Grizz have done a beautiful job of updating this place to a genuine Holiday Park. It's clean it's safe and has a lovely inground pool. They care about the people there and the facilities. Recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay with choices of caravans pods and tent sites. I'll definitely be back!
Stayed at this place and yes it's not 5 STAR. But Like most places maintenance is always on going even if it progresses slowly. Up grading such facilities is not cheap. Good on the owners to turn the old trend and move forward with improvements. I found them down to earth kiwis. Given the nature of previous Tenants and management it's no wonder the place went to rack / ruin!! Some 1 had to step in and fix it everywhere. Please perciver people...if you can...I've stayed at various holiday parks around nz even poorer than this place. We need good facilities to get better for everyone. Thanks for the stay..
really looks like the 8mile caravan park which is actually cool to see. nice ladies took us in for 10$ each when it was late night and we checked every other place in the tauranga area. has showers, kitchen shelter, gas cookers, sinks and some grass areas to park. might be a bit loud in the morning as it is next to a junkyard and a crane was relocation car parts. looked like there are more permanent residents like workers and working backpackers. thanks so much :
