Although this place looks a bit worn, it’s well worth a visit! We’ve stopped here a few times for fuel on trips between Wellington and New Plymouth, but today was the first time we decided to try their food.nAs we were heading in, we chatted with a solo traveller from America who was on her way out. She mentioned how good the Indian food was, which convinced us to give it a try. Having been to India multiple times, we've eaten our fair share of Indian food, so we were curious to give it a go. Since we had dinner plans later, we opted for something small—the vegetable pakora which we shared—and it didn’t disappoint. Crispy, perfectly spiced, and packed with flavour.nThe thickshake we shared was also delicious. Safe to say, we'll be making this a regular stop for food as well as fuel from now on!
Ordered medium butter chicken, given mild takeaway so was long gone before opening. Rotti was like cardboard, butter chicken was like creamy tomato soup. Disappointed.
We ordered 50$ worth of fish and chips it was not fresh and the fish was definitely not eatable
The best value for money for miles around, lovely food and served with a smile . Will definitely come back.
Don't be fooled by the unappealing decor, the Indian food is delicious and authentic. They have a traditional charcoal tandoor oven which made the tandoor chicken and naan our new favourite dish. The lamb rogan josh was also excellent, medium hot was perfect for us but some people may prefer mild. Stir fried curry mixed veg finished our excellent takeaway. Half portions of dishes were available but we found the whole portions gave us an extra meal the next day. Great value..
