Lovely place to visit although the walk can be from an hour on the shorter track to 90 minutes on the slightly longer walk. Lots of shade and small lakes with plenty of ducks chickens and lovely coloured Roosters. Lovely flowers in summer. Dogs are allowed but on a lead. Only downside is the only toilet is it at the car park so make sure you have been before you go on your walk and take plenty of water with you. Also we are good walking shoes or good sandals as the tracks are gravel in places.

Very beautifully maintained walkway amongst big trees. The tracks are well made and maintained. There is a small lake which is the home to some beautiful birds like ducks and swans. The car park and the public toilets are at the entry point. The tracks for walking vary in length for different difficulty levels. Good shoes are needed since the tracks are rough in places. Nice experience overall.

Really enjoyed our visit. There's a good amount of parking. Chickens everywhere! Lots of nice tracks, and if you want to go for a Tron rock hunt - this is the place to go.

Situated conveniently close to the city but feeling miles away, this is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll with the family. There are a great variety of trees and landscapes surrounding the wide, well-maintained and extremely accessible tracks, with plenty of surprising nooks and crannies to discover. Keep an eye out for the massive chicken population!

Absolutely love this place! 5 minute travel by car out of the main suburban area of Hamilton. 2 accessible areas, the main entrance on Howden Road, and the back end of the Arboretum on Wallace Road. Beautiful covered in area, can easily spend 2 or more hours walking, resting and marvelling at the landscape. Numerous walking paths, lakes, resting areas and wildlife. Plenty of Chickens and Roosters. A couple of lakes are also host to Ducks and a couple of Swans. Always a pleasant experience when feeding the wildlife. Also host areas where wedding photos can be taken. The arboretum has its own Stonehenge! I also find this place quite adequate to play Pokemon Go ... it has many pokestops and about 3 Gyms to occupy us Gamers while out on a great walk through nature while breathing fresh air. I only have 2 down sides; First being there are not enough rubbish bins around the tracks. Second, when it rains the tracks can get a bit muddy, so do come prepared, and the water in some of the lakes is a.bit smelly at times in the heat and after it has rained. Apart from these 2 minor things, I visit the Taitua Arboretum quite often and enjoy spending time under covered trees and out with the wildlife and nature
