Lots of cute little secret garden paths ways. Surprisingly quiet even though it is right next to busy road. Well maintain small gardens. Semi enclosed kids area recently remade with creative playground equipment.
This park has always been a must stop on every trip to or through Hamilton. It is one of the more quieter areas and is situated right by the Waikato River with a nice view of the city on the other side. It is a great location for heaps of photos and a walk down to the river bank. It is probably one of my favourite parks in NZ. There is not much else to say other than that it is a great spot for walking, relaxing or photography. NOTE: Photos were taken right after the first flooding that took place in February. The river is not usually that high.
Great little spot for a picnic and lovely play and swim area for the kids! Plenty of shade as well.
I never visit this much worst park in nz. Even my street also better clean and well maintained than this
Amazing place for kids great pools perfectly suited for the younger children.
A beautiful park.Well done HCC garden staff
What a hidden gem!! The park is aimed at children, but I'm 70+ and I love it. I like to sit in the sun or shade, listen to the squeals of joy from children, or even the cries of the wild birds in the park. The Hamilton CC has also provided an aviary with many types of flying and flightless birds. I leave feeling refreshed - like I have been away on a short a short break. It is lovely!
I take my grandchildren to Potter's Garden paddle pools, as I did their parents before them, when they were little. A lovely shady area, clean water in the paddling pools, an awesome free activity so close to the city centre. The 4 year old and his 9 year old cousin had a ball. Well behaved children and caring attentive parents a real plus.
This is a very good place to drain the energy from the smaller ones... The wading pool is refreshing, with 2 provided! Don't let them drink the water or put their head in it..
Parana park is an amazing gem near the heart of Hamilton city with playground equipment for the kids, easy access to the mighty waikato river, bird aviary and several beautiful remeberence memorials to our fallen war hero's. Would recommend for a perfect lunch out with the family with picnic tables on site.
