Much nicer and more developed than Melbourne high. It's a cool school trust me . I'm glad I attended Suzanne Cory. Goated teachers, goated students
I went to this school for 2 years, graduating in 2022. This is my honest opinion of this school which I’ve been meaning to get off my chest for quite some time but I’ve just been too lazy to write a review or completely forgot about it until recently when I reminisced about all the bad interactions I’ve had with many teachers in this school. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of amazing and kind teachers. However, during my 2 years of attending this school, a big thing that I’ve noticed, as well as many of my other friends, is how rude and down right unreasonable some teachers here can be. Here are just some instances from my personal experience that I still think about till this day, even after 2-3 years from these interactions occurring which continue to make my blood boil whenever I think about them and make me wish that I had stood up for myself during these moments. 1. The time my friends and I got yelled at for using a door to go outside during lunch time ???. Why is the door there then if not for students to use? 2. The time me and other members from my group presentation got lectured by the teacher in front of the class for being “unprepared” because the class white board projector wasn’t able to get our presentation up straight away due to problems regarding permission/access in the shared PowerPoint. Mind you, there was no way we could have done anything to prepare for something like this happening. If we knew this would have happened, we would have tried to fix it well beforehand. Each member completed all of our assigned sections/work. We were well organised and ready to present getting around 94% for our grade but yet we still got yelled at for something out of our control without getting an apology. To call us "unprepared" is ridiculous. 3. One of the teachers complaining to another about my friend needing to go to the toilet all the time during class, when she literally has diabetes and does this to check her blood sugar levels. 4. The time my friend and I were yelled at by a teacher for using a study room during lunch time to study for an upcoming methods sac we had the next day. I understand that going upstairs is technically not allowed during break time, but in situations like this where we had a methods sac that directly contributed to a percentage of our final VCE methods study score, I’m sure a one time exception could have been made. Instead, we were yelled at, being told to “get out now” and “I don’t care” when we tried to explain ourselves. There are other ways to go about this without being so rude to students. The library isn’t exactly quiet during break times either which is why we had no choice. 5. The time where a teacher gave me unnecessary attitude when my friend was signing my t-shirt on the last day of high school, saying sarcastic remarks like “that’s not allowed you know?” when literally everyone does it. Mind you, even the school principal signed my t-shirt that same day and she didn’t have a single problem with it, yet somehow this teacher did? I also saw this very same teacher signing another student's t-shirt later that day, which I found to be very interesting and hypocritical. Practice what you preach. 6. The time a teacher told one of my close friend’s parents to not let her sit with me in class anymore because apparently “she wouldn’t gain any benefit from it.” It truly baffled me as to why a teacher would say something like this about me. I was a well behaved student, paid attention in class, and never caused any disruptions. Teachers in my old school had always praised me for being a responsible student, where one literally told my mum during a parent -teacher interview that she “wished I was her son” because of how well behaved I was. Even my friend was confused as to why she would say something like this. These are just some of the unpleasant interactions I’ve had with teachers during my time here. I’m going to be honest and say that I was a little bit hesitant to post this review, especially because of the lack of anonymity, but I want to share my truth.
It's very disappointing to learn that the school didn't inform the parents that their son has not been attending for the past two weeks.
Don’t go to this school or else your gonna be missing like the year 11 boy
nice, esp the yellow house
It's a pretty good school with a good environment. The students and staff there seem nice enough and the education is pretty good. Not a bad place to be at.
It is such a privilege to work with such wonderful students and staff!
