We have dined at Sun Lai at least five times in the last three months. The service is always prompt and excellent. The food is consistently very fresh and delicious. Very nice sauces. So far our favourites have been Shanghai King Prawns, Steamed Dim Sim, Spring Rolls, Wonton soup, and the House Fried Rice. You can BYOB, but there is also a nice selection of beer and wine.nDon't listen to the negative reviews. The owners are always present and take great pride in their restaurant. Give them a try! PS-They also do great take away.
Feeling a bit homesick. We live in Sunnybank My bride, my dauggter and myself found this great cbinese restaurant in Bellara. The staff were friendly and stopped to chat. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Thank you so much Sun Lai restaurant
Thought we would give a try as it has new owners. We did a takeaway of mixed entre of prawn toast and spring rolls - not bad although the toast was stuffed with what I think was a prawn paste? It was a bit gooey. It would have been good otherwise. Two main dishes: sweet and sour pork and Singapore Noodles. I wish I could say something positive about either dish but I'm sorry, I can't. We tried both dishes but could not eat. We really wanted the food to be good as we enjoy Chinese food and wanted this place to be a regular.
We have always had our Chinese take away from Sun Lai.nLasr night I ordered Sweet and sour combination. I was extremely disappointed with my meal.nThe main ingredient was not fully cooked onion, and very little sauce which tasted more like watered down tomato sauce.nI have never had a chinese dish that had as much onion in it. It really spoilt the dish.
Dining in is always my favourite! The kitchen is always so busy with take away orders, but if you dine in you always get great service and the food is amazing! Sun Lai is my favourite. It is a real Restaurant and serves sit down customers with respect. Take away is always so busy.
