We ordered on a Saturday night at 5:51pm - was told would be a 50min wait, arrived at 6:40pm to pickup - waited until 7:20 to get food.nnThey also missed a dish and we called and they asked to come in and get it after spending $160+, and the wait.nnUnfortunately probably the 4th time we have had this experience, as food is good, but I believe they don’t even make the food until you arrive and pay and it always is a wait there.nnWe are locals, want to support local but this place does it every time. I would not recommend going here.nnEDIT - the owner has lied below, we just got off the phone with him and he admitted we have paid for it, and has offered to give it to us tomorrow at 5pm with a free fried rice if we take our review down.
On Sunday, we bought two shandy for lunch instead of our normal fish & chips at the beach. The shandy were 1/2 the size we normally recieve from the Gum Sing restaurant in Wynnum that serve their Shandy in a cake box. Haveing said that, these shandy from Sun Lai restaurant were absolutely incredible. We sat at the beach together at Bongeree, enjoying each other's company, eating this amazing Chinese food that was mouthwatering in appearance & had really good flavours. I would definitely buy from Sun Lai restaurant again. We soaked up the rest of the day admiring God's Creation & watching people's activities, fishing ect. What a day.
Unacceptable delivery times. To be given a 1 - 1/2 hour window for delivery time turning out to over two hours is appalling. You have this feedback regularly from other customers and you should do something about it. Not even a phone call to say you are busy and there will be a delay. Update your staff so they can inform customers if you can’t keep to your commitments . We dine regularly in the restaurant but you service has gone down hill overall. You do not appreciate your customers.
Don’t bother with sun lainJust had hubby to drive over to the island to get chicken and cashew nut and fried ricenNo cashews at all. The man I spoke to said they were added but I said you would need a microscope to find onenHis response was next time you order he will give us extra cashews on the side. So I said you are telling me I need to order again just to get what I should have got when I ordered. Epic failnNo customer service. Don’t waist you money and they are very rude. He hung up on me. Worst place to order from. Never again!!!!
