We got the kingfish starter, prawn toast, short ribs, and chicken. Plus we added roti. Overall, it's a very uneven menu.nnThe kingfish was incredibly fresh and tasty but the portion is small. I would treat this as an amuse bouche.nnThe prawn toast is very average if not disappointing. It tastes like a deep fried fish cake.nnThe short ribs are deep fried and lose their beef flavor. It's a waste of good short rib and the portion doesn't justify the price either.nnThe best dish by far was the peanut chicken. Incredible flavor, juicy chicken, and good portion for two people. Fair warning though it's VERY rich and fatty but well worth it. This dish is the only reason I'm giving the restaurant a 4/5 instead of 3/5.nnLastly, the roti is absolutely nuked in deep fryer. We thought it would be lighter and more of a baked consistency. We sent it back and it was removed from the bill, no questions asked, which we appreciated.
Had a lovely meal here. Definitely the best atmosphere in the area and delicious, inventive dishes. Loved the prawn toast, rice cakes, smoked aubergine and roti. The crying tiger short rib was good but a little low in chilli/high in soy sauce for us. Interesting wine list and fab cocktails.
Went for a drive from Brisbane to check this place out. The venue itself is amazing and visually calming. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with utmost friendly staff. Our server Eve, was efficiently amazing and made sure we were very well looked after. Everything we had was a little too sweet though and had a lot of coriander which I can't stand. Don't think a second visit will be on the cards.
Loved it!!!nnBeen meaning to come here for a few Noosa trips now and finally got an opportunity on our last trip. So glad we were able to come as the food was sensational.nnEverything we had was delicious from the entree’s Kingfish / Prawn Toast / Crispy Rice Cake to the mains Fried Duck Mince / Swordfish. The only bit of advice I’d give is listen to the server when they say it’s a hot dish…that Fried Duck Mince was delicious but bloody hot, a lot hotter than what I’m used to. I cracked on with it putting on a brave face but geez it had some heat to it nnWe had a few different wines by the glass which paired well with our entrees and mains.nnThe vibe was cool and funky, something I’m not My only gripe is the couple tables being so close to each other. I get it, you want to maximise space, but surely the couples table don’t need to be in a row and can be scattered throughout the venue to create a bit more of an intimate dinning experience for them. Rant over, food was amazing, Cheers
Cannot fault our overall experience. From the host/manager Terry, to our waitress Joanne - they were all so accommodating, lovely and efficient. We ordered so much food, but everything was so delicious! We loved the tartare, shortribs, fried rice and the chicken! The cocktails were also very good! It is too far to walk if you are staying on Hastings St, but definitely worth the trip!
