Course related costs and student loan haven't been processed, despite submitting the re-application back in October. First day today and I've not been able to purchase most of my items required for school. Call up after being on hold for an hour and a half to be told something that essentially boiled down to 'we didn't do it'. So NOW they're chasing it up the chain. You NEED more staff working on things and handling calls, this is ridiculous nor is it a new issue.
Paying $12 a wk since appx 26/06/21 bond + wk in advance - $580 together. I had received a phone call from studylink SL to sort it, told started paying since 03/22-March 22. This was incorrect, got told 06/21 pay every wk until loan paid off, I agreed. 12/21 called to confirm $12 a week since June. 05/09/22 person said someone will call me in 1/2 hr, no one called me back + said I had to pay a food grant back + petrol grant? + told me why dont you ask WINZ to sort it out, I got the bond through?? I rung SL 12/09/22, spoke to another lady, no help, no answer to when someone would approx. get back to me about debt? Told her to send me all the payments I have made for debt, not received yet. After this another called called after I called SL, said we can only see in a letter in 12/21 that it’s $12, so you must have only paid since then. They don't keep track? I have the right to know exactly what I have been paying for and the right to know when I need to pay something back like the petrol grant. It has been month, now the 06/10/2022. Stressful, especially for a student recovering, pt study to relax a bit more, I shouldnt and no student should have to deal with talking with studylink for hours trying to sort this sort of this out, and for months? And for what? No real information about my payments. If I could give the studylink phone centre a 0, I would. This is the first time I have written a review on google too, proves how bad they can be.
I am sick of waiting for over 2 hours for studylink to answer my calls. I got hung up on after waiting almost 2 hours because it reached outside their working hours. I am also sick of listening to six60s entire album.
Very unhelpful. Takes there sweet time getting anything done and is incredibly difficult to find out any information. Expected more from a government program
I’m at my wits end with Studylink, I’ve waited over 3 hours in total trying to get through, and have sent 3 emails with no response. I finally got through to get my “evidence” approved so that I can start getting my living costs 6 weeks into semester, he assured me it was accepted and would be wired that day. It has now been 2 weeks, no sign of the money and my status application is still pending. I think it’s so cruel to subject people to this experience, with no alternative. Such disgraceful customer service, the reviews are all here to see clearly that there is major issue, it’s total arrogance to improve this experience for students.
it would be awesome if when I'm told to wait for 70 minutes on call I didn't have to sit through six60s entire album that sounds like its coming out of a phone from 1965 which is worsened by the fact you have to leave it on speaker to make sure you don't miss them when its finally your turn. I thought there was a call back option but i cant find it anywhere so there doesn't seem to be any solution
Terrible to deal with. Waited on the phone for 20 minutes to fix a simple issue just to be told I have to call back again later. And then got hung up on. You would think they would be there to help make a students life a little easier not make it more difficult. Would give 0 stars if possible.
No on there seems to know what they are talking about, they all say you need to do / fill out different things. Almost like they don’t want us to get student loan. Then you need to call them to sort it out… hope you have 3-4 hours free because you going to be waiting all day to get told the wrong answer yet again… oooorrr they say "it looks good" then still decline it 3 days later.
Compliments to Matt Heady? of the Christchurch office. I pulled out of my course after two weeks of receiving the allowance to transfer to a different course. You are not eligible for the allowance if you didn't complete your original correlated course. When I called the call centre to discuss my options, I only got the typical "computer says no" answer and I was upset that there was no intention put in to look more into my circumstance so I booked an appointment to visit in person. Matt made an effort to understand my specific situation and was reciprocative in finding a way to make things work. He was kind and caring. He discovered that if you pay back your previously received allowance luckily for me it was only two weeks worth before the allotted time, then you will be eligible for the student allowance once again. I am grateful to Matt for going over and above and being genuine and compassionate in finding a resolution for me. Five stars for Matt and my experience at the office today. Two and a half stars for the service I received through the call centre.
No desgined to help people need a major just to be able to understand the system
