Although it’s a state library, it’s fully open to everyone, including international visitors, with no restrictions. The facilities are exceptionally clean and modern, and the layout is designed in a way that lets you enjoy the surrounding views while you read or relax. It’s a quiet, beautiful space worth stopping by even if you’re just passing through.

This library is the best in Brisbane. It has many study place and it is very calm. I like it very much.nnI have one polite request for management. I work and study, and I come to this library after work. The current opening time is not enough. I kindly ask if you can make the opening time longer. It will help many people.nnIt will be very good if the Infozone can stay open until 10.00 pm on weekdays and until 8.00 pm on weekends. The current weekend 5.00 pm close and weekday 8.00 pm close make it hard to study. The washroom also close when the library close, so I cannot study near by after that time.nnHome is not a good place to study for many people. This library is the only study place for people who do not have a university card. I am happy to pay extra for after hour use.nnPlease kindly consider this request. Thank you.

Great place to visit.nVery modern, pretty quiet and peaceful to visit and spend time by reading books, using internets etc.nalso have places and things for kids to enjoy.nOne of well organised state libraries in Australia!

I absolutely love coming to this library. It’s a beautiful building, and the view of the city is spectacular. The staff are always incredibly helpful, and I couldn’t imagine a better place to write my thesis. The only downside is that many of the younger visitors under 20 seem to miss the signs that say “Quiet Area” and talk as if they’re in a café. It’s frustrating—especially after travelling over 40 minutes just to study in silence.

We had our wedding at the State Library and it was the most spectacular experience. The events staff were phenomenal throughout, and made us feel so comfortable and excited for the day. They were on top of everything from the start, and the day went so smoothly. It was an absolutely stunning venue, and so special.
