Had banquet menu for Chinese New Year Celebration. Price was a bit high but we got live seafood including pipis, lobster, and fish. Portion was good, taste was okay for my liking. I would say simple but nice. The best dish for me was pipis and crispy noodles.
Lovely yum cha location in Chatswood. Hits and misses with their services, on good days you've got endless dim sim trolloys going pass you, but bad days you will need to wait forever. However the dishes are always yummy.
One of the few dim sum places remaining in northern Sydney. We were sat in a room away from crowded common area. I was worried we won't get the dim sum carts coming by. The server assured me he would make sure we got all dishes we wanted, and we did! Good customer care. It was on the pricy side, but it seems to be the case for dim sum places.
Good yum cha restaurant in Chatswood. The service was superior to any other yum cha restaurant I had been to. Staff always checking in and clearing the table. Food was good also. Peking duck was great and the dim sum was fresh also.
There's not a lot of option in chatswood for yum cha so people go here as it's quite accessible. Unfortunately it's not that great. Most of the dishes are ok, but nothing to write about. The shu mai was good. The ha Kaw filling was great, but the wrapper was disappointing. The chives dumplings was just ok. We also had other things but it's just ok yum cha. Probably the best dish we had was the sesame prawn as it's freshly cooked and piping hot. Now If it's cheap, it's fine. However, the price was quite high for that sort of yum cha. It's also missing core yum cha dishes like fried wonton. Might have to order it than expecting it in the cart.
Great food and quick service, bit of a food court atmosphere. Prices are on a bit higher end. Pork and prawn dumpling an absolute mustFood: 5/5
One of my regular spots for yum cha. It's certainly gotten more expensive over the last few years but quality is generally pretty good. My top picks here are the steamed pork ribs, bbq pork buns / baos, taro dumplings wu gok, spinach dumplings, chicken feet and egg tarts. That's usually a line for yum cha on weekends but it was uncharacteristically quiet when we went on Sat.
I wish I can give 00 rating. Sunday yumcha at Star Capital is the worst. The ridiculous thing is the Captain of the restaurant came to 3 innocent/helpless ladies every a few minutes to rush them finish after one hour. Saying that Sunday rule is one hour per table. We spend $137 for the 3 of us. It is not like we didn't spend $$. Is this the kind of customer service that Star Capital want to pursue? Well, you loss me. I won't come back never ever. I will put your rude Sunday one hour policy on major social media to spread how rude this policy is. OK, Star Capital. Not even one apologies to gently ask us to leave the table. Not even one apologies and politely ask us to leave.... absolutely appalling customer service. I thought we Chinese are nation that particularly honor hospitality and customers' right is well respected. NOT with Star Capital apparently. Shame on you Star Capital!
Not value for money. We had 9 adults and had been served the size of 3 serving portion for each dish, $30 for a pot of tea where the tea leaves was bare minimum. The bill turn up ridiculous without any seafood. If u fancy a Chinese meal, walk a few shops down from this and there’s a place where the food and way much better and reasonable price.
Average Yumcha. They charge a surcharge on debit card, despicable behaviour. I’m sick of this forced tipping of the restaurant management. $28 for a fried rice.
