Crazy to think Its been 7 years since I’ve graduated, high school just flew by before I knew it. Since I was finishing up on my first year at Uni I thought Id take a look and see who’s left teaching here, unsurprisingly some of the amazing people who taught me have moved on. But it was so nostalgic to see some of the people who shaped my primary school life still working here. Lots of love to both Mrs Meyers, Mrs Elvin Never thought you’d stop being a PE teacher and especially Mrs Jones for the warm memories The ONLY issue I had was with Mrs Falvey's actions which traumatised me and had a lasting effect on me 7 years down the line, probably will be present for a lifetime. Seriously though hope you never make a mistake like that again and seriously harm the mental health of another one of your students. If it wasn't for the superb, 10/10 environment that St. Richards had you could've single-handedly ruined my primary school experience :
St Richard's is a welcoming school community in a beautiful setting at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges. We first became part of the community 5 years ago and I have been extremely happy with the education provided to my daughters. All students and parents are known by name by the Principal and Deputy which further demonstrates the care they take with all students. I have been pleased with the progress my daughters have made and the inclusive learning that caters for all abilities. If you are looking for a small and friendly school that will provide an excellent education, then look no further than St Richard's.
I moved to St Richard’s in grade four the people were really welcoming there. This school was small but really fun and I made great memories with friends. Year six was good year and graduation was so fun the teacher planned us a amazing place to eat dinner at and we went on a limo!! I wish I could stay in year six forever : I’m only writing this because, I graduated year six this year and I wanted to write a review when I finally finished primary school. Mr Vail is a legend every time I think of mr gill I laugh because in my language gill means tummy and me and friends would call him mr tummy that was so random
We couldn't be more happy at St Richards Primary School! It has such a warm and nurturing environment and our son settled in very quickly last year. We love the fact that our son plays with kids from all different year levels, this is attributed to the small size of the school. All the teachers know every child by name even if they havent taught them yet. We are looking forward to having our daughter join the school next year!
I moved to St Richards and it was a pretty good school. Very small but easy to get around. Graduation was fun and the grad movie was really funny and I'm glad I went here for my final years of primary school Go Mr Gilly Marcus
I recently met with the principal Marcus explaining my 7yo was moving schools due to being bullied by a couple of boys at another school. I let Marcus know my son had an unsettled time from age of 3 as a result of me requiring 2 brain surgeries due to having brain cancer. I let him know my son had anxiety provided reports as a result of my illness. We agreed St Richards could be a good fit due to their focus on student wellbeing and religious values. Following my sons 1st transition 4 hours day my wife was met at the office by Marcus and vice principal head of student well being and told he was not a right fit. My wife tried to explain my son would have been highly anxious but Marcus had little interest and closed his office door on her. My son had the support of an occupational therapist and we were willing to work with school to make this work. For Marcus to give up on a 7 year old was very disappointing although I note he had attended a funeral that morning. Nevertheless this is not reflective of the catholic values I was raised on. My point is if your child has suffered some trauma or a tad different maybe this isn’t the school for you. I would like to note some of the other teachers seemed kind hearted. Shame on you Marcus as now my son is left without a school while we explore other options. Marcus horrible feedback via email afterwards was ‘Unfortunately, the behaviour that… presented today in such a short time was more than just anxiety related to your unfortunate illness ….. Maybe the fact my son was diagnosed with Covid the following could have impacted on his behaviour. So cruel!
I spent 6 years of my life at this school, and I have recently moved to perth. I loved the school when I was at it, the teachers are amazing and caring and they plan so many fun activites. Across the years I have had so many amazing memories made at St. Richards. Mr Vail is a legend.
st richards wasn't just a primary school, it's where lots of nostalgic memories of the early 2010s took place. everytime i come back and reminisce on this school i honestly shed a tear thinking about how easy life was when i was little. the only thing we worried about in life was being the fastest kid in the class or getting the latest toy from toys r us.
St Richards is the best school ever. So many great memories and opportunities. I wish I was still in Primary school! If you are looking for a suitable and safe environment for your child then St Richards is the place for you!
Wonderful, caring school. The staff can't do enough to help your child grow in every way. Fantastic culture and a great learning environment. My only regret....I wish we had come here sooner. My daughters learning has gone through the roof, since coming to St Richards.
