Story

The hospital is a new modern facility equipped with six wards, a emergency medicine department, hydrotherapy pool, café, gift shop, Chapel, pharmacy, day procedure centre and front reception. Also included is a cardiac and vascular angiography suite, five operating theatres with state of the art theatre equipment.
Every year our dedicated team of medical specialists and experienced caregivers provide compassionate care to over 17,000 regional Victorians. Our care is distinctive, with more than 700 caregivers providing a warm and welcoming environment to meet our patients' needs. Our caregivers provide holistic care to all those that they encounter, respecting the unique dignity of every person.
The hospital returns all surplus to the community it serves through enhancing services and social outreach to people experiencing disadvantage.

I recently had a procedure at St John of God Health Care and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience.nnI would give my care a 10 out of 10.nnFrom start to finish, every staff member I came into contact with was kind, professional, and incredibly reassuring. The nursing staff, surgeon, and anaesthetic team were all amazing and made me feel very safe and well looked after at every step.nnAs a young woman who has recently moved to the area, I was quite nervous going into hospital, but the calm and compassionate care I received made such a difference and really helped me feel at ease during what could have been a very stressful time.nnI know hospitals are often busy, high-pressure, and stressful environments with so many things to manage, but the team truly showed up and went above and beyond despite that. I’m very grateful for the level of care and kindness I received.nnThank you again to everyone involved—you made a big difference to my experience.

Had shoulder surgery Wednesday 15/7/26. On admission I was told that all rooms are private. As this is my 3rd Op at the  hospital this is not true.. I was unfortunate enough to get room 232 I think on ward 2 East. It was the front section of a once private room that was as.big as my small laundry. As I was Self funding patient I really thought $1867 for the night was very much over the top.  I am due to come again before Xmas for a hip replacement and I am asking please for a prin,bate room.  Happiest part was your exceptional staff. I would like to commend Charlotte the day nurse, Stu the night nurse and Filomenna from Perth who guided us through  payment without the appropriate paperwork.   My Surgeon Mr Danai de Villiers was amazing and I thank him enormously.  Sorry this is a long but I had to get it all off my chest.  Regards Bev Muller

Had surgery today at St John of God Ballarat Hospital and I just wanted to leave a beautiful review for a nurse named Tori/Tory in Day Surgery.nnShe was absolutely amazing so attentive, caring, and constantly checking in on me throughout the whole process. I’m a young girl away from home, so her kindness and reassurance genuinely meant so much to me and made me feel safe and supported.nnMy dad also drove a long distance to come and pick me up, and she was so understanding and helpful with him too. It made the whole experience so much easier for both of us knowing I was in such good hands.nnThe whole team at St John’s is always wonderful, but Tori truly went above and beyond today. She has such a beautiful soul and deserves so much recognition for the care she gives patients.nnI really hope this message gets passed on to her because she made such a difference to my day.nnThank you again

Thanking the staff maternity ward secifically midwife Tanya who was very supportive and helpful during my stay after c section recovery. Midwife Caroline who was supportive from the beginning to the end checking on me. and Midwife Ashley for her amazing information and support from the beginning to end. Dr, prof Deepika Monga and her team during labour and c section, the anaesthetic team amazing I can’t remember all the names but how  amazing the  staff at st jhon,  and thank you for the amazing chefs and cooks and the staff  for  food they provided during the stay felt very comfortable during the stay. Thank you for all your services at St jhon Ballarat. Well experienced staff and their kindness. Highly recommend to anyone.

Arrived with my loved family member via ambulance to ED late in the evening on Friday. After bloods and CT done the Dr deemed him not serious enough to admit even though he was in obvious pain and I requested an admission so they could monitor him. Discharged at midnight with a prescription for antibiotics. Dead 12 hours later. Is this how you treat your private patients now? You will be hearing further from me.
