I have been visiting a friend in Goodna once a week for years, to catch up and have a bite eat. We always buy lunch from one of many local Takeaway shops just to have variety and to support the local shop owners. There are 2 bakeries in Goodna, both offering a number of freshly backed Breads, Pastries and Pies. However St Ives Bakery has the best tasting pies! They are packed full of fresh meat covered with just enough gravie that doesn't flood out every where.. the chunky beef range is amazing! The large chunks of Chuck Steak have been perfectly cooked, the gravy thay accomplishments the large chuncks is the very same filling that is in there delicious standard Meat Pie. There is plenty of filling and not to much pastry, but enough to do the job without that "filled up on pastry" feeling. I have had Yatla Pies and posh expensive pies, hand made from top restaurants.. but St Ives Bakery makes the best good honest homemade pies i have had in a very very long time.
