Avoid like the plague. Absolutely atrocious. Managed to fix and reduce my mortgage, too far along to entertain swapping banks. But they are beyond a joke. Abusive demanding letters for payments already made on or before the due date. Takes them 24 hrs longer to process deposits than other banks. Pathetic. Look elsewhere, do not get trapped by this farce calling itself a bank.
Avoid this bank at all costs. Do not be lured by any attractive offers. Wasted hours of my time on the phone, as there is no other contact option. Wait times were around 20 minutes on average. Other than that, they had poor communication, misinformation and convoluted application processes. Terrible and painful customer experience.
How is there only one branch in the whole of WA? You would think being only one branch they would have a lot of staff to support the large amount of people that have driven far but no they had two. Both who were rude. Have been asked to verify my identity which I have done twice only to find my account is now restricted I can not access my money. Made 3 complaints have not heard anything. People on the phone keep telling me different things. Have had to take time off work to come to this one branch get promised it’s fixed and it’s not fixed. This has been by far the worst customer experience I have ever had. Extremely poor service. Unfortunately I just got a home loan with St George so I’m stuck with them for a while but I will certainly be closing my savings account and keeping my money with CBA. I honestly hope these reviews get read and something one day happens so that no one else has to feel the frustration and complete helplessness that I have felt. This has caused so much trouble and tears!
Received a CC statement in the mail charging $99 for a card fee. Reportedly the card was activated 2018 now 2023. First card statement ever received since 2018 and no purchases ever made on this card. I don't ever recall even applying for this card !!!! Called their online centre where the lady cancelled the card but still wouldn't commit to wiping the $$99 fee which I refuse to pay. Had to wait and be put on hold twice for them to look at my profile and finally she said they will clear the $99 card fee and the card. Reiterated to her that no purchases or direct debit were ever made in this card so there should be no balances.
Tried to open a savings account for my son who turned 15 a week ago. I spoke to someone at the Perth CBD branch over the phone when he was still 14yo, and I mentioned he is turning 15 soon. Was told we can come up with the required documents to prove his ID without him. Made the trip today specifically to open the savings account, but they won't open the account because he is now 15 so he needs to be there in person!!! I don't normally like leaving negative review, but I am disgusted that my time was wasted making the trip into the CBD. It is ridiculous that this is the only branch in all of WA!! Why is our regulator letting the big 4 banks buy out all the little ones, and gradually killing them off???
What a terrible bank, the hassle you need to goto just to get internet banking set up and verify your I'd is insane and only one branch in WA makes it so difficult. I have a 2 hour drive just to show them my I'd which I've already sent them is pathetic I'm surprised they have any customers at all.
I used this bank for PayPal purchases, but somehow done scam app hijacked my bank details and money from my account. I notified st George's bank asap, thinking they would block this transaction I didn't authorize. Useless. They couldn't or wouldn't help. They're supposed to have a 48 hr security check in place so you could cancel any transaction not authorized. Nothing. Now they play The dumb game and pass the buck, making useless suggestions. Now I lose, having out my cash in an institution u thought I could trust. That was the last straw. I'm closing my account
Poor customer service from their contact centre right through to the Perth branch where there is no real interest in helping their customers. Messaging their friends / colleagues as the priority while dealing with me as a customer when time allowed
Terrible customer service, went into the branch earlier in the day to speak with someone regarding a credit card options options to complete an application after reviewing options online. After waiting in the line for 20 min I was told I would needed to make a meeting with a specialist to discuss. I happily arranged the meeting and would come back at 2:30pm for the meeting. I returned, again had to wait in the line for my meeting which was already odd. I was then told to take a seat and wait, that the lady would be out shortly, after waiting 30 minutes I again waited in line to ask when she would be out as I was on my break and needed to return to work, I was then advised that she was in a "meeting", and that they couldn't confirm when she would be available, that they can email me, no apology for not letting me know sooner, just dismissed the situation and returned to the counter. I understand meetings do not always run on time however this easily could have been advised when I arrived so I didn't sit around for 30 minutes waiting just to be turned away.
Absolute theiving dogs, have our mortgage locked in with them and was all fine, after it come out they whacked it to over 5.5% thinking the LVR ratio was in there favor Best bank ever if you like to be stolen from, btw, you can than your idiot home evaluation team because we'll be with another bank in a matter of weeks
